I was just in the KU thread and was sad to see that they use the "band score" thing... I will be lumped into the 24-29 group 🙁 Is this something I could discuss in the secondary, as one of the questions was "discuss and discrepancies between your academic performance and MCAT scores"?

Also keep in mind that a 28 is the cut off for EDP.

The 30 would have been good enough. Except now... people are retaking 33s and 34s to get higher scores.

The MCAT should be made pass/fail. It's supposed to assume readiness for medicine. Ranking applicants is not conducive to finding the best applicants.

I agree. I'm a good student, but can't seem to get a great score on the MCAT. That is one reason I like KU, because they are not real numbers heavy. Of course they like top students, but they look at more than just scores and GPA's. 👍

It should be pass/fail, or should somehow be more indicative of your actual knowledge. Like the ACT; I got a 32, 30, and 33. Pretty accurate in my opinion.

I thought AMCAS was a LOT more streamlined than TMDSAS. That being said, I like how TMDSAS lets you put an unlimited number of activities.
