Class of 2016!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I can't eat anything before 9:00 AM. My stomach doesn't work until 12, at the earliest.

I used to do that in high school... just had a cup of coffee for breakfast. I don't know how I could not eat breakfast now.

thanks, if only bear hugs could add 3 points to my PS score 🙄

happy hour isn't until 4 so I don't know what I'm going to do until then. I'll just sulk and hate myself for not preparing for Physics and G-chem hard enough 🙁

Hey man... seriously... don't sweat it.

I got an 8 the first time I wrote it.

PS sucks...it's absolutely useless IMO. Just prep harder if you decide to re-take.

In any event... you wrote the ****ing MCAT.... do you understand what that means? You endured torture, cruel and unusual punishment. Either way, congrats!

I'm packing up to go home after a long day at the office doing nothing. 😉

I suppose I'm in the same boat. We just got 8 new PCs in the lab today for DAQ and I was granted the pleasure of re-imaging all 8 and then syncing them with ad-hoc electronics. I was in a boredom-induced stupor half way through the first one (I still can't remember anything that happened from 12-4).

One of these students in particular...

"Yeah, I didn't know what I wanted to do, so I wrote the MCAT, and I'm doing medicine now, cuz my parents wanted me to. But I don't like it. I just wanna get the MD and then go into consulting"

How do you think I feel? I love it when I can answer questions about patients that med students can't answer because they don't care enough about being there.

Prime example...
"So Mrs. Smith's blood sample has an unusually high K+ level... but no EKG changes... explain."

*Everyone looks stunned. PI/Attending asks everyone, leaving me out*

PI/Attending says... "CodeBlu, do you know?"

"I think the blood should be re-drawn, because this looks like hemolysis, artificially elevating the serum K+. Looks like the sample was late getting to the lab and the phleb dropped the vial or something."

Blood work comes back... no K+ elevation this time.

Win. Tiger blood FTW!

Where was this, Hasbro Operation med school

It was a rhetorical funny quesiton

whenever i got to go on rounds, the students did fine for the most part. Although they had some small brain farts with some small physio stuff.

Now where I've come to clash has been with physiologist, biologist, clinicians, and surgeons who try to do research that's not case study/biological/biomedical based, but more hard science/engineering based. It dangerously trespasses into areas which they should not go into . I have a whole heck of stories of dealing with people like this in my labs, work, and academia.
