I'm not a coffee snob at all, I love Starbucks. 😀 I don't really like plain coffee, though. I get soy lattes because plain coffee is icky.

I just got Stritch too and I was verified 7/12. I think they must have sent them all out today.

I'm totally into EM! It fits my personality, you get to see a really wide variety of cases, and it has some of the best hours of any specialty.

Yes, I'm in love. 😍 I shadowed in an ER for about a month and it was awesome. It was a small er so not a lot of trauma, but it was still cool.

My bro is a neurosurg... so he's in the ER a lot... level 1 trauma centers always need to have a neurosurgeon on the premises.

EM is a sweet specialty. NO OVERHEAD, NO OFFICE!!!! Once you go home, you don't have to worry about work. It's done.

Being on call sucks. I had to do that when I was in IT. It was so hard to go back to sleep after driving into work to reboot a server.

No way... it's almost impossible to fall asleep after waking up in the middle of the night for me... unless there is a pharmacologic intervention of sorts.

So true! When I get my first real paycheck as a doctor, I'm buying myself a nice espresso machine and coffee grinder. Though maybe that would be a better investment before medical school....
