Yes! Three in a row!

That's a turkey in bowling.

I will allow it... just cuz it's you.

Interesting... very interesting. Taking notes BWSTW?

Powder blue DBS. Like this one. Yes, I have put a lot of thought into it. Now I just need a couple hundred grand. 😀

I heart tea. 🙁

Yessss!

You can drink tea... but you must also drink coffee!!!! Now as far as your Aston Martin choice... I like it.

But I'm partial to Audi R8s myself...

😍

I don't take coffee breaks though... I drink it at my desk. alone. with my interwebz friends

 Rock Hard.....

holy crap... those 6/16 kids got SCREWED on verbal...

Lots of 4s and 5s... I just don't understand.

!!!

The aamc really needs to figure out a better way of scoring. Like making the curve based on other test-takers, not by results from the questions being previously "tested."

Y'all are crazy, verbal was my favorite section! And PS was my best section. BS was always my worst, even in practice tests...I hope that doesn't look bad...

VR was always my favorite, until I took the actual mcat and scored way lower than I should've, based on practice tests.

Hahaha... not really.

But I loved VR, BS and WS... ALOT.

I always scored well in VR... BS took some time to break away from that wretched 10. I was stuck at a 9 for a month. Then, I was stuck at 10 for god knows how long... after that... it's gravy. Once you pass 10, any more points is just a bonus.

When I got an 11 after my gong show verbal last July... I was shocked.

When I got a 12 this January... I cried after the test. (I don't cry)... the verbal was seriously THAT bad. So much philosophy and art, EFF THE HUMANITIES.

I love those passages. It's the political ones I can't stand... so of course I had a long politics passage on my exam.

In case you couldn't tell... I always HATED Physical Sciences. Loved G-chem... got off on it you might say. Thought I wanted to be a chemist and do drug design for a split second. (Breaking bad ftw)

Then there's physics... conceptualize THIS (nether regions) AAMC!!!!

Wow, you're like my twin! PS and verbal turned out to be my best sections (scored the same on each). I was quite shocked because I scored the highest on BS when I took my very first pre-studying diagnostic test. It's ironic that for my actual score, I'm just below the 10% on BS for a couple of schools but I'm almost at the 90% for verbal. Hopefully I won't get screend out just because of BS.

I usually scored slightly higher on BS than PS, and always scored the highest in VR.

All I do is study, study, study no matter what.

I'm bumping around 9 and 10s for all the BS practice sections that I'm doing. i just wanna break free!

Though I must say, having gone through the application cycle once before I have grown frighteningly complacent with hearing nothing for months (I guess it's just my low expectations kicking in 🙂).

Yikes. To actually have 4s and 5s reported on SDN means there must be quite a lot of them.

so quiet in here. This isn't a library people

Wow, you're right. I just stopped by the MCAT subforum and noticed the thread completely dedicated to the VR section on that date. Scary :scared:

Ugh. The mcat is awful. Hopefully with the changes they're talking about implementing there will be a better way of scoring.

I was stuck on 9s in VR and BS for the longest time as well. Finally started to break away about 2 practice tests before my exam. Scored 10s on both on the real thing, can't figure out why everyone is having such a hard time with VR on the 6/16 thread.

PS can go die in a fire, then have its ashes crapped on, then flung into the reaches corners of galaxy where it falls into a black hole and is compressed into a singularity, then burned again in a fire. 😡😡😡😡

^ Ahem, conceptual fail. Normalized distributions negate anomalies.

Tell me if I'm wrong in thinking this is how the mcat is scored: Raw scores are converted in to scaled scored depending on the difficulty of the questions, as previously determined by the aamc. Your score is not affected by how other test-takers performed on the same day (i.e., it is not "curved").

More or less true. AAMC recycles passages after X years and maintains the past students' performance for those passages and adjusts the curve accordingly for the upcoming exam.

OK, so they don't "curve" it to fit a bell-shape type distribution?

Wow, the first time I typed that sentence, it came out like this: "OK, so they don't "curve" to fit it go a bell-shape type distribution?"
