Great opportunity, great school. My not so hot (but kinda hot) arch nemesis is doing that sort of program at LLU. Think it's worth it 🙂

My app doesn't feel up to par, and if I don't get in, I really hope a school offers me that post-bac opportunity. What's one more year 🙂

I've been in school forever, and while I would really like the chance to graduate by 30, I gots to be real about my chances especially given my letter situation which still has not changed. Wake's Postbac has much lighter numbers requirements when compared to their MD school proper despite the type of classes they'll be going through. I like my chances. will mull it over tonight

With your current situation, I highly recommend it 🙂 You get to be the first to go to a US MD compared to your friends remember? 😀 do you take M1 classes as a post-bac? I know for LLU, you're in class with the M1s, and you have to do better than 50% of the class.

well its geared towards disadvantaged/underrepresented applicants and the classes are separate from the med school while being at the graduate level. Plus there's a PBL course involved in the year, to get used to that type of learning in the med school proper.

can you pursue the postbac while waiting to see if you get in somewhere this cycle?

Nope, they only select 10 students for the program and upon completion of the program they could all go to the med school proper

no, the postbac would start in august, as in everyone in here's first year of school.

yes, but don't you apply now? So can't you apply and get accepted to the postbac while waiting to see what schools you get invited/accepted to for med school?

Oh that, yes, since I have to apply to Wake's postbac through AMCAS, I can apply to it and still see if I get accepted to anywhere else this cycle.

cool. 👍 I would go for it. Then you will at least have a fallback option, and have a guaranteed acceptance for next year.
