I think after a certain item (whether it be an article, gif, announcement, etc) achieves a threshold number of +1's in a given timespan it rolls through the feed.

Edit: ...or was that a dig suggesting that G+ got it from Reddit. I may have missed the sarcasm without a smiley. 😛

Haha no sarcasm! That makes sense though. I'm almost 100% certain it started on reddit though...this time around at least. There is so much stuff on the internet it's hard to find where anything began anymore.

Hmm, it wasn't me. I know that any old gold donor can delete his/her posts so it could be anyone.
