I don't fail. I persevere. If the hosting site is being a f***face, I actually post gifs to my tumblr, then upload them instead of looking for other, less awesomely apropos images. and within 5 mins, mind you. 😛

Augh. I think I've been in a terrible mood ever since I wasted 1+ hours with Verizon last night. grumpopotamus. 😡

The place where my car got towed was so sketchy. Only accepted cash, but they didn't have any change, so I got bilked another 5 bucks in the process.

The customer service window was behind 3-inch thick bulletproof glass, and the entire place was surrounded with barbed wire. I was positive I was going to die there.

East St. Louis is the scariest place I've ever been, though my boyfriend swears that South Side Chicago is worse. We drove through ESL to get to the park where you can view the St. Louis arch. I used to think Liberty City was bad.

South Side Chicago is worse. I know people who've been shot and killed for no reason at all. One of the women I worked with told me about the "neighborhood tax", where her neighbors stole things out of her garage, knocked on her door and offered them back to her for a "finders' fee".

I can almost guarantee you East St. Louis is worse. If you don't roll through stop signs you're going to lose vehicle

You only have no loyalties because you no longer reside in California. Once you leave here, there's no point in claiming loyalty to lesser states.

Don't get me wrong. When I say no loyalties, I mean I still love CA, but I appreciate other states just as much now. I'm no longer predisposed to the biases of having lived in the same bubble all my life.

Also, I was happy to give up my CA residency for AMCAS :laugh:

I've lived all over California though, so I wouldn't necessarily say its been a bubble. There's certainly a very different culture going on between northern and southern california and that is also even further divided (like the major differences between Orange County and LA County as well as the Bay Area compared to the Central Valley). I would say that my love of California is great because I have seen so many different aspects of it.

but yeah, being a CA resident hasn't brought me any luck for AMCAS 🙄
