is this the elective kind where rich people want to get their boobs done or the other kind were people want to repair them after say lumpectomies or mastectomies?

The surgeon I shadowed solely does lumpectomies/mastectomies and works in conjunction with a plastic surgeon who does the following reconstruction. I got to see a number of post-surgical reconstructions. I was really impressed, and more than a little amused, at how proud the women (and the surgeons) were of their work.

I'd walk in and the patient would be like BAM! Look at these! Didn't the doctor do a wonderful job?!?! It caught me off guard at first.

looks like it might rain here too, it had to eventually appear to be winter at some point in time.

i wonder what the weather's going to be like in missouri?

Five shots, totaling $500 from an urgent care clinic. Yippee!

2 varicella
1 meningitis
1 Tdap
1 hepatitis B (I completed the series years ago, but I needed to boost to make sure I get a positive titer)

Ah ****, thanks for the reminder. I need to get some titers done as well.

It's such a crappy, rainy day here - hasn't stopped raining since I woke up. I'm not going to be able to get in my bike ride. 🙁

Mind bringing some of that rain down to Texas at some point...?

Here, have a Nigel Thornberry gif

Just check UNC requirements and my records.. All I need is a chest x-ray to show "-"ve TB and varicella titer (or 2 vaccines)

Yeah, UNC has the most insane vaccination requirements of any school I've seen.

I got on it quick. I already got the last 2 (of the 3 total) Hep B shot in May and December.

Got the 2nd Hep A shot in december as well. Then, I completely forgot about everything until now.

Oh and I still need Hep B titers..

chips, a giant cinnamon roll and chocolate cookies are an acceptable dinner, right? right?

Wow. We all knew Joe Biden was an incompetent fool but this is just icing on the cake.

lol i saw that on RCP earlier today. one of my favorites this week:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/vi...gypt_dont_use_us_constitution_as_a_model.html

"You should certainly be aided by all the constitution-writing that has gone one since the end of World War II. I would not look to the US constitution, if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012. I might look at the constitution of South Africa. That was a deliberate attempt to have a fundamental instrument of government that embraced basic human rights, had an independent judiciary... It really is, I think, a great piece of work that was done. Much more recent than the US constitution - Canada has a Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It dates from 1982. You would almost certainly look at the European Convention on Human Rights. Yes, why not take advantage of what there is elsewhere in the world?," Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg

stuff like this is why people hate pre-meds

0/10.

in other news, i just found out the market on my corner just started selling freshly made donuts out of their bakery (which incidentally happens to be one of the best bakeries in the country....). long johns and bismarcks galore.

so this sums up my day perfectly:

Don't worry, I also find pre-meds to be insufferable. I just hang out here because I have a self-defeating personality.

Also, this:

Top 5 Reasons to Dislike Pre-Med Students

+1 that's why i stick to my engineering crew. we revel in being so infinitely lost all semester. there's a humility that comes with constantly being shown how much there is that you don't know
