Wow. I just ate 2 whole habanero peppers because I was bored. I immediately regret that decision.

This was not the ideal time to realize that I'm running low on milk. 🙁

lol I was just going to suggest some milk. Cheese and yogurt work OK if you have those.
I settled for a stale bagel, all good now. 😀

Today we had ourselves a burn victim come in... with burns to over 25% of her body.
Updates to follow...
So after working in the ED for some time now, I've become immune to most things... weird smells, crap, vomit, blood etc. etc.
I've seen some pretty bad burns, but this... this... was just insane. The doc I was working with was like "Ooooook, get me 3 of dilaudid and 4 of Zofran"....
I've never seen him give more than 1 dilaudid to start... so I guess that's an indication of how bad it was.
Her buttocks and the entire backs of her thighs were bubbled over or falling off in patches with burnt skin.
Needless to say... she got transferred pretty swiftly to a facility with a dedicated burn unit.
The smell of the seared flesh was different than that of surgery... cuz there was white pus and fluid already... it was... well... just wow.
So I've been stalking this thread for a few weeks/months now... when do I get to find out where everyone is going next year?

Probably when schools finally get around to rejecting or accepting us![]()
It seems like this cycle has been going on forever. Or maybe it's because this is my second time around, but I'm just ready for it to be over and let's go and get started already.
I got rejected from a school a week or two ago, and my only reaction was "When did I even apply here?"
Sounds about right. I only have 2 more schools to hear back from myself and I'm expecting rejections and that will be ok. I'm just happy to have closure at this poin, you know?
Seriously. Over the course of the cycle, I have learned to appreciate schools that at least attempt to run a professional and transparent admissions office. Medical schools make you jump through so many hoops - I figure that it's not too much to ask that they try to treat us with a modicum of respect.
Reject me, waitlist me, accept me, tell me that you used my application for toilet paper ... just don't wait until May to tell me "oh by the way our interview season is over."
I understand that these schools get thousands of applicants for a hundred or two spots. But there are schools that are able to manage to communicate the status of one's application on a timely basis. It is not impossible. Simply setting up an online system that allows notification when an application passes each stage of review makes a huge difference in the mental state of the applicant pool.
But even worse in my mind is the waiting list. I sat on a waiting list up until the 3rd week of August last year until I finally found out that I would have to reapply. I am so glad I don't have to go through that again.

lol *coughcough*
i'm withdrawing from another school that ended their interview season already today. i also withdrew from them (post-acceptance) back when i was applying to college... taking a stand. it's a little stand, but i'm taking it. 🙄
Nope, 'cause you got some awesome acceptances. Congrats!
I hate waitlists. Why does nobody want me? 🙁

where's the waitlist train thread that frazier started? i think you get to captain that ship with a crown and cape. a cape that will turn into a huge bailout chute the moment you get your first acceptance. <3
