Class of 2016!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I wish. I get tired and fall asleep too often 🙁

i completely sympathize. i'm currently finding it really difficult to close the laptop, get out of bed and get changed into running clothes.

even though it's beautiful outside....

It's freezing here (relatively). Around 45 degrees. Plus the heat in my apartment is off, so I kind of had to improvise and let my shower run for a bit longer so the steam could heat the rooms up.

Good luck on your run! I did an intense 60 minute spin cycle class today, and I feel awesome.

morning folks, only got 5 hours of sleep, but that seems to be par for the course these days.

lulz, thanks....i ended up going with the elliptical instead. i'm still scared of my tendonitis 🙁 if it interferes with my training this season...there will be hell to pay.

today's agenda: run ~10k, pick up some free clothes, and going out and finally, FINALLY, after 5 years, buying my first big-girl bike (aka, the first one that's cost more than $50...)

summertriathlons, here i come. 😎

Yay!!! Biking is my fave. I just got back from my evening ride. My boyfriend bought me a really nice bike for our anniversary last year.

During my high school summers, I used to do 8 mile bike rides through the forest preserve right by our house. It was amazing. I miss it!

When i was little, my brothers and I, along with some friends would bike along this path by a golf course close to our house. Those were some fun bike rides.

I used to live in Seattle. They organize a 200 mile Seattle-to-Portland bike ride every year. It's a two day affair. I just showed up one day for the event with no training and did 140 miles the first day.

My butt was really sore for the last 60 miles on day 2.

San Diego hotel party! I got here and napped! There's an undergraduate social. Here's to hoping for cute nerds and an open bar!

Waiting on my hair to drive. Watching crappy TV. Listening to the rain and wind. Waiting for my friend to be done so I can do my makeup 🙂

Blocked facebook on my computer until 11. Didn't block SDN. Bad idea. Now I'm on here.

40 pages on my thesis paper and counting....

eh, SDN doesn't update nearly as fast as fb does and there's no chat. Should be easier to stay away

This is how I feel right now.

i tried my hand at steamed vegetables with my spaghetti tonight for dinner with resounding success.

It feels really good to have both delicious food that tastes good for once, and with payday tomorrow I'll be able to by some more nutritious goodies. I may actually try to make some sort of meat dish.

I had a NY Strip steak (it was on sale) and a spinach salad. I must have been low on iron or something.

So Albuquerque and Roswell? :meanie:

We're flying into and out of Albuquerque, but we'll mainly be in the northwestern part of the state, nowhere near Roswell. We'll be in Albuquerque, Sante Fe, Taos, Farmington, Gallup, and some other really small towns, like Eagle Nest and Socorro. We're going to do some good hikin' and good eatin.' I've already found some gluten-free friendly restaurants that serve local cuisine.

Woke up at 4am, drove for 2.5hours. Work in 30mins. I don't want to go to work......

I don't get Santa Fe. Your other destinations sound wonderful, especially this time of year, but when I went to Santa Fe it was ridiculously crowded and there was literally no place to park so people just kept driving around (well, mostly stuck in traffic while being glared at by traffic cops) until they left. I felt unwelcome and like I didn't belong.

I've seen spanish style towns and arty communities before. Am I missing anything, except excessive idle time on my car engine, by avoiding Santa Fe?

When in Taos be sure to climb Mt. Wheeler, the highest point in New Mexico. Awesome views. Sign the book in the cannon. When I climbed it I was stalked by a mountain lion!

We'll be operating out of Sante Fe for nearby hiking/exploring (Nambe Lake, Tent Rocks). We considered Wheeler, but decided it might be better for us to do during a warmer part of the year and once we've acquired better hiking gear. How did you handle the puma stalking you?

When the puma was out and about, the hikers formed big clumps. I started my hike early in the day when there weren't many people around. Later in the day a school bus dropped off a bunch of noisy track and soccer students from a nearby high school, and the kitty lost interest.

I highpointed AZ, NM, and CO on three consecutive days on that trip. Good times.

currently eating a wonderful burrito for lunch in between my volunteer gig and before i head to work

Wow... not a lot going on in here today, huh?

Today I sold one of my cars, and this will fund my first year of medical school. I found a buyer for another one as well, closing that sale in a couple of weeks.

In other news I started a complete shytstorm in a slow class-specific thread a few days ago and the resulting fireworks and popcorn have been occupying most of my time since then. The thread needed some livening up. :meanie:

How many/what kind of cars do you have?

Also, I'm now going to look at your posting history to find the chaos you have generated. It sounds amusing.
