So today somebody asked a question asking about medical departments staring with "So I've read on some forums blah blah blah".

On the inside I was like

At an interview, one of the guys in my walking group said "Well on the website Student Doctor Network I heard that blah blah blah."

I was like come on man, the first rule of SDN. 👎

Saw Chronicle yesterday and it was awesome bump

Go and pierce your septum, they said. It won't hurt at all, they said.

THEY LIED.

😱 You pierced your septum?! My best friend in high school had that done. It was really cool, but I think that's one of the most painful piercings I can imagine. And that is coming from someone who has had 6 ear piercings, a tongue piercing, an eyebrow piercing, and a navel piercing. You are a brave soul.

You thought it hurt? They had to tell me when they finished piercing mine, I couldn't tell at all.

got off from work, ate lunch, took a nap, and now is up at 9:30 with nothing to do bump

LOL it was the only body modification I teared up for.. Didn't flinch for any of my ears or my tattoo.. but this was just ridiculous.

Ah, did you take most of your piercings out?

Can someone who interviewed at Rosalind Franklin tell me what is special about it so that I don't have to do this interview research?

it's bright new and shiny. i mean, obviously the school's been around for a while, but the facilities are actually very pretty.

also, you can play a drinking game for every time they mention "interprofessionalism". they love talking about that.

good luck!!

Heh, don't you love admissions speak? 😀

Also: everyone is SO COLLABORATIVE and shares notes and reviews and this is really unique to our school.
Also: I have friends at other med schools, and some of them haven't even seen patients yet. We get that from day 1.
Also: our students score well above the national average on the boards.

You are hardcore. Did you get the kind you can like flip up and hide? And yes, those were all from when I was 17. Now I am down to two sets of ear piercings and my tongue piercing (which I almost never wear jewelry in). Gotta be a classy grownup for medical school admissions, lol.

Life in Discovery? Why, that's my personal motto!

LOL the piercer intentionally put in a larger circular barbell to accommodate for swelling so I can only flip it up if I remove the balls at the ends. It always makes me sad to remove piercings 🙁 Feels like I'm giving up a part of my youth. Bahh, I hate being a classy grown up. I'm going to be wild until residency interviews

Ah, your tongue still stays pierced even without jewelry? I always thought that healed quickly lol.
I think tongue piercings to me is like septum piercings for you.. I think you're badass hahaha. 😛

I hope my nose piercing didn't set me back at Temple, and I'm praying it won't affect me at UIC this Friday. It's new so I can't take it out. Plus, there's a bump underneath, so I need the ring to cover it 🙁
