Med school has ruined sleeping in for me. Went to bed at 2:30 after Black Friday shopping, woke up promptly at 6:30, like I do on any normal weekday. 😡
 
Also, I miss you guys. I feel like I haven't talked to anyone since school started 🙁

Those movies are so dang bad they're kinda good. LikeWhite Chicks. Terrible, terrible films...so bad they're hilarious. Like Nicolas Cage in Wicker Man.

"In perhaps the most infamous example, the principal male characters congregate in an alley behind Johnny's apartment to play catch with a football while wearing tuxedos. When Mark arrives, he is revealed to have shaved his beard, and the camera slowly zooms in on his face while dramatic music plays on the soundtrack. Nothing that is said or occurs during the game has any impact on the plot; the scene ends abruptly with the men deciding to return to Johnny's apartment after Peter trips while trying to catch the ball. Wiseau received enough questions about the scene that he decided to address it on a Q&A segment featured on the DVD release; rather than explaining the scene, though, Wiseau only states that playing football without the proper protective equipment is fun and challenging.[10] Greg Sestero has been questioned about the significance of Mark's shaving, though his only response has been "if only you knew".[11]"

I love my Littman Cardio III. A ton of my classmates have it, and it comes in pretty colors.

Most of my classmates and I have a Littman Cardio III 😀 I got mine pretty cheap at http://www.steeles.com/catalog/3mlittcardIII.html with just an extra $5 for engraving.

Whatever you decide, I would choose a double-sided stethoscope. Some of my classmates bought the single-sided Littman "Master" stethoscope, which has higher performance than the non-"master" counterpart but can't be used on physical exams that require both bell and diaphragm.

It's okay, I figured out about two weeks ago that you have to turn the diaphragm and bell around to line up with the little hole close to the tube to hear from the side you want. I did an entire physical exam practice with it turned on the wrong setting...no wonder I couldn't find a pulse.

I agree with this. During our SOSCEs they look for if we used a bell AND diaphragm... Even though each side of the cardio III can be either depending on pressure, I normally flip sides and loudly pronounce I am now "switching to the bell".... either my graders don't care or don't know the difference as long as I am acting, haha.

I mean, it can be used, just not well, because no one knows what the hell they're doing when they see a tunable diaphragm.
 
I see sector9 has changed up his avatar for the impending holidays! I forget that Christmas is less than a month away when the weather outside is 75 degrees and sunny 😛
