Class of 2016!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I'm pretty sure that's the night temperature. It's definitely 40 in the day

You know what's worse than going to lecture and studying after break? Going back into anatomy lab after break in your scrubs, which still reek of formaldehyde even though you have washed them weekly since July.

The best part is, I went into lab thinking we'd be done with anatomy after this block in mid-February. Then I discover that our neuroscience course, which runs from mid-February to late April, still requires us to go into lab because of course you can't have neuroscience without neuroanatomy :boom:

As much as I loved anatomy, I can't imagine having it for more than 7 weeks, just because everyone reeked and the cadavers were starting to get really bad. Or did you start anatomy mid-year?

We have neuro March-May. Just when I was getting the smell out of my hair...

You haven't done anatomy yet? It's a lot more intuitive than just memorizing 100s of random things.

He's not in med school yet. We just let him hang out with us cuz he's cool 😛

Our anatomy is integrated with other courses, so that's why it's extended over the course of 7+ months. We started anatomy the first week of class in late July. We usually have a 1-hour lecture and a 2-hour lab every week. As of right now, we've finished everything except head and neck (which is taught January-mid February) and neuroanatomy (which is taught mid-February to late April).

I'll (hopefully) be in med school after I'm done with college (two more years,... 🙁) I'm trying to keep this thread active in order to gain it more posts(and defeat the 2014ers), especially when you guys are busy.

"Day" is not the same as 7am, when it's still dark and kind of still nighttime (at least to me). Tonight it's going down to 6 degrees. Womp.

Disagree, it's 18. I'm around a similar area as you though. :naughty:😳😎

Cold weather >>>>>>>>>> hot weather. Blankets to keep warm >>>>>> sweating and fans (which won't work in a heat storm)

How do you keep the cadavers in good condition over 7 months? 😱

What's this then

We will be done with the bodies after head and neck. For neuroanatomy we will be looking at preserved brains rather than the brains from our own cadavers. But as you can imagine, after 5 months the cadavers are now really dry and don't smell so great :scared:

Ours were super dried out after 7 weeks, I can't imagine 5 months. And head and neck is the worst...everything looks the same and/or is really tiny and/or is impossible to find

Interesting...I see is a Skype icon under Ismet's avatar. I didn't know SDN gave you the option to send a skype message to other people.

But it is windy...

Yes, it's always windy here. Campus is fairly elevated.

Haha yeah I just made a Skype account for SDN, because the SDN chatrooms people set up are pretty bad, and people started using Skype

Yeah, I just found out. It's in the "Edit Profile" category. Guess they updated recently. 👍

We should form an SDN chatroom.

Kidding...

As in they can actually smell worse than they already do? Hard to imagine
