Man, I'm falling apart. First a broken ankle, now almost certain I have strep throat (hopefully going in today for a rapid test). +pity+

Get better soon! And be careful before you get rheumatic fever...

 That was actually part of the last question on the microbio final we took last Friday...the necessity of taking antibiotics to treat S. pyogenes. At least I got something out of that class haha

I first learned about rheumatic fever in immunology, then it came up again for in PBL when I had to look up more info about preventive uses of penicillin. Then we learned more about it in microbio. And then yesterday when I was doing my preceptorship with a cardiologist I saw a patient who had to get a valve replacement as a child because she had rheumatic fever! That disease keeps popping up everywhere :scared:

I was gone for just a day, and the thread fell to the second page... Smh.

Same

Too bad Francis is anti-abortion, anti-same-sex marriage, and anti-contraception.

Oh well.

I don't actually exist in the morning. I am that extreme of a night owl.

Our med school class is so young on average that I very often feel much older simply due to my significantly greater "distance" from undergrad. I'm only 3 years above the average age, though. Some of my classmates have younger SOs still in undergrad, and I'll be like, "Wait, they're how old? 19? 20? What? BABIES!"

Good news: no strep throat! Bad news: viral sore throat that looks like strep and feels just as bad, but just has to run its course 🙁 Best news: I passed micro with some kind of miracle! Now it's just neuro and psychiatry and MS1 will be done! :soexcited:

Yeah, that's really weird. I hope it's not an elusive premed...

Nope. You must defeat me to enter the castle.

:woot:

Also, I just noticed that my post count per day is way too high, so I'm cutting my presence on SDN and enjoy the real world (as you suggested...). Hopefully the 2016 thread will be active. Until next time.

Pfft these things aren't static. Once upon a time we pushed this thread through tens of pages a day.

Then we started med school....
