Why no 2010s Musical Goodness? +pissed+

"90s musical goodness" has always been Silent Soldier's signature top post. Plus, the music from the 90s is better than the stuff people call "music" these days.

Christ, this is good

This is the incorrect answer. Please try again.

I find a certain amount of chocolate to just be overpowering and sickening. I never liked chocolate ice cream or chocolate cake in significant amounts by itself. A chocolate + vanilla layer cake is OK, or a yellow cake with chocolate frosting (love that one), or a neopolitan blend of ice cream.

I'm actually a vanilla person myself when it comes to ice cream and cakes, but I also have a weakness for a good, decadent chocolate cake when one presents itself. And a cup of black coffee. Now me wants.

Cute llama, Cinclus 😍

Also, excellent music choice. Even though I was probably more of an *NSYNC fan myself.

well NSync had the better singers, so they were better. I'm not afraid to admit that there were some songs of theirs that I liked.

Do you even know who the Backstreet Boys are?

"The Backstreet Boys (sometimes referred to as BSB) are an American vocal harmony group, formed in Orlando, Florida in 1993."

I 😍 wikipedia.

The last 1.5 weeks for me:

Seasons of Game of Thrones watched: 2 out of 2
Lectures of neuro studied: 3 out of 14

Oh boy... :help:

We have three more exams and then the year is over! Even better, our next exam has our final section of anatomy. You can't imagine how thrilled I am. Anatomy for me is the absolute worst.

I'm starting to drag like crazy. It must be the end of the week. The closer it gets to exam time, the faster the weeks seem to fly by...:scared:

I personally didn't like the way anatomy was run. Too much time was spent studying for the practicals and not the actual class, IMO. We had one each week, and a test every two. I felt like the most I learned was where exactly in the body certain things were, which I've mostly forgotten by now anyway.

Not sure if srs...

Completely srs! That was the most organized class we've had, and the professor is the best I've had in med school so far. He was so enthusiastic about anatomy that it was hard not to absorb some of that enthusiasm. I also feel like we had a good balance between lab and lecture, we had 3 exams and 3 practicals, and they were equal weight with each other (except for the 3rd exam, which was our 50% semi-cumulative final). I also really enjoyed dissecting and I thought it solidified what we were learning in lecture, because I'm a visual learner and can't stand going to lecture.

In my experience, my favorite classes have been the best-taught classes, not necessarily the ones I thought were inherently the most interesting. This is in general (not just in med school).

Haha, I just think it's ironic that your two favorite classes are the ones every other med student in the world seems to loathe. We haven't had neuro yet, so I can't comment on whether the material is interesting from my own perspective. I agree with Minerva as well, though, in that teaching makes all the difference. I loved our GI course, but the instructor was a b****, and we ended up loathing her by the end of it. It made the course as a whole less fun.

Haha yeah if we hadn't had that professor for anatomy, it might not be my favorite. And if I hadn't majored in neuro and seen most of this before, neuro DEFINITELY wouldn't be my favorite. It's going crazy fast. I highly enjoyed embryology, too, but I guess that's kinda similar to anatomy and the prof for that is my 2nd favorite. I think the only thing my classmates can agree on is that microbio was pure hell.

We do GI in 2nd year and I haven't heard great reviews. Apparently cardio is the best of 2nd year, and renal is good as well. We'll see. Me and kidneys haven't gotten along too well in the past.

Yeah, we've had anatomy since the beginning of the year. It started early September and has continued up until next Friday.

We only had 3 practicals, each of which covered 3 separate lecture periods. In other words, we had a practical for all of musculoskeletal, including back, upper extremity, and lower extremity, then another practical for abdomen, thorax, and head (except eyes, ears, and head osteology), and a third for pelvis, perineum, eyes, ears, and skull osteology.

And I'm so glad it's ending. 70% never felt so right.
