Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
College has to find other means to make us pay for school besides tuition, right? 🙄

Yeah so true. If I were a high school senior again I'd definitely go to a public school because the tuition is killing me 😱

I will never understand that sentence. I've read it about 10 times now and still...nothing. My professor was awful. He was a Russian man who was not a fan of teaching.👎

I am sorry 🙁 Your professor really can make or break the class.

:laugh::laugh:

Seriously though, $9000 for an electric bill? What are you running a nuclear reactor in your basement or something?

Shouldn't a nuclear reactor give you a negative bill? like the simpsons episode where they install the wind mill.....haha

👍

An ex gf of mine used to go to NYU. She had rented an apartment for $2000 per month and her living room was no bigger than my kitchen. I am not even exaggerating

I hate the city (sorry tman). It overwhelms me. I'd rather live in a small city/the suburbs

I go to college in arguably the most suburban city in the united states(look up Irvine) and these prices are similar to what I pay 😡

Apply to SUNY Upstate 😉

There too. Even though they probably favor NY residents. 😛

@tman, love the cold. The air is so much crisper and everything feels more awesome. I hate the sticky summer heat. 👎

I hear that. If I had to choose again, I'd definitely have applied to cheaper schools probably. =/

I'd go to my city school and save on room and board by staying home

Hahaha I thought about that while writing that response

Because of its good schools, jobs, and housing, the city was chosen in 2008 by CNNMoney.com as the fourth best place to live in the United States.[6] In June 2010, the Federal Bureau of Investigation reported that Irvine had the lowest violent crime rate among cities in the United States with populations of more than 100,000,[7] and in August 2008 the Census Bureau ranked Irvine as having the seventh highest median income among cities in the United States with populations of more than 65,000.

That's probably why. Looks like a beautiful place to live 👍

I was gonna say he ends up making money off of it, but I forgot 😛

Well there have to be some of each to fill each state 🙂

I have no idea what Law is that. I mean you can go out with your car at night but hanging around in the apartment complex is forbidden

That's really weird...most be a really bad area. I think I read about it somewhere...

I'm sold 👍 I'd love to live there if I had the option.

Haha....its kind of an interesting place to live. It is a completely planned city where almost 100% of the property was owned by 1 company at one time or another(The Irvine Company). For awhile there were no fast food joints, all gas stations have to be designed so you can't see the pumps from the streets, buildings are only allowed to be painted a handful of earth tone colors(each "village" has a few different earth tones it can use).....I could go on.

OH THE BEST -- All buildings have to have something obstructing view of stuff like air conditioners on the roof because they are unsightly. So when they built the first chemistry building at my school they built a wall around the roof and then put all the AC units and fume hood exhausts there. Well since most of the chemicals were more dense than air....a lot of the chemicals settled in this pit on the roof and got sucked into the AC vents. For the longest time people couldn't understand why the whole building smelled like sulfur after students did a sulfur lab in the fume hoods. This building also has a nuclear reactor in it...but thats not important haha.

i just ordered ochem as a second language today 👍

got all my examkrackers book today...pdf file :meanie:

and also got chem for the utterly confused in pdf file as well 👍👍👍

But yeah, it looks beautiful. I mean, it's California. I don't think anywhere in California is ugly looking 🙂 (alhtough I have never been there)

Haha..its purty. I am only about 5 miles from the beach. 🙂 And just over the hill are Newport and Laguna beach (Laguna Beach and The OC).

Important indeed. What you described sounds like a place I'd enjoy living in 😀
