Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Wish me luck while I try to fight my second test of the day :scared:

Me too! I would be more excited if I didn't have to take Physics 2. 🙁

I'm taking physics 2 right now...Almost done with pre-reqs. Just need to take orgo lab and another english course. :scared:

GUYS IM OBSESSED WITH THIS RANDOM SONG FROM AN ANIMATED MOVIE. It's called Forró da Fruta, from Rio. It's actually so amazing. I, like, want to choreograph to it... though I don't know any Brazilian dances.

In other news, I haven't posted here in so long! What's the happy happs, peeps?

I am actually only doing Orgo2 with lab (lab reports here are insane) and Gen Bio2 with lab. Took the bio 10 years ago, glad I decided at the last min to retake it! A lot has changed. Plus two schools just told me in August they wanted an update. Figure that, with two kids, is enough.
And I loved Physics 2!
And we love the songs on Rio, lol!
Soooooooo excitteeeeddddd!!!!!!!!!!
Bring on the MCAT study!

Hola peeps, I usually just read SDN posts. Time to start writing! 😀

Yay 2017

And can I just say.....we are 7 months, -1 day, to submitting applications!
Makes studying a little easier knowing the goal is getting closer!

Nothing at all...Feels like there's still sooo long before the semester is over 🙁

Wow...orgo lab reports...sounds scary :scared:

Yay! You're still applying with us! 😀

He better be :meanie:.

In other news, I am about to take a take-home midterm for biochemistry and I think I'm going to throw up. I'm so nervous. I've never taken a take-home exam before, and it sounds like these exams are ALWAYS harder than regular ones.

Screwed4lyfe.

🙁 Not cool. Good thing Google is your friend!

Alright, guys. I think the time has come. I might be joining the c/o 2017 group...maybe taking a year off after all 😳

But I'm super excited to hang out with you guys!!!!! 😍 Hopefully you're better than c/o 2016 :meanie:

I see what you did there

Guys, did you hear about Justin Bieber? Hiiiilarious.

Also hilarious is the fact that foxnews considers this actual news.

Yo I read in the London papers today that some girl tattooed the entire FIRST VERSE of Baby on her thigh in order to win VIP tickets for some music awards in the US. It took 3 HOURS and was probably really painful. Here's the story:

This made my day. Thankfully I read it on my way to school also.:laugh:

Can't believe what people will do for stuff like that...Getting the tattoo will probably be more expensive than the tickets...and she has to keep it forever or pay a ton of money to remove it...:smack:

Does that work for med school apps? Can I write on my thigh "Accepted at [insert top med school choice here] 2017!!!! wooo!!! hahahha

Because I'll do it!

This is such a boss week. Got three test grades back:

Pathogenic bacteriology: 97%
Marriage and family (needed soc credits, surprisingly hard class): 96%
Physics II: 90% w/ a class average of 63.

Needless to say, I'm pleased so far 😀

Oh, and Friday I get to shadow a surgeon for the first time. I get to see a prostatectomy in the morning and a lazer removal of some prostate tissue in the afternoon. Definitely excited about that!

Wow, that's a really awesome week. My head would explode if that much awesome happened in the same week

I have junioritis. It struck me as I was learning about models of action and various theories on how goal-oriented behavior is related to visuospatial skills in lecture yesterday that the only parts that I enjoy in lectures in general are ones that are related to medicine. E.g. in my genetics course one of our textbooks(in the UK they give you quite a few books to "read" haha) has a lot of clinical commentary and I'm almost done with it, while I haven't touched the molecular genetics one(which is probably useful but ridiculously dry)...

Long story short, I'm sick of school. Does anyone else feel this way?

PS I also just spent my 2 hrs of in between class time watching House. FML

Just curious. Since you're in the UK, are you in college or uni? I know some friends of mine went straight to med school without the 4 years of college or are you planning to apply just to US schools?

Haha I should've been more clear.

I study in the US, but am abroad for a semester. I actually was very hesitant on applying initially but once the HPAO advisor told me that it could be a good thing as long as I didn't take dumb classes and went to an okay university, it would be okay.

My med stat class is 95% med students(I'm the 5%), in their 3rd years doing an intercalated track or whatever in pediatrics. It's crazy because all our studies/cases have to do with stuff I've never heard of(I'm only an UG remember) so when I was like so what causes asthma again people laughed before they realized I was an "affiliate" student(that's what they call us here).

I'm definitely applying to US schools but I'm also extremely jelly of the way they have their education system here... which only makes me wanna go to med school more lol

Yes. I did the exact same thing yesterday... and skipped all of my afternoon classes today to take a 4 hours nap. 😴
