I hate the MCAT verbal. It's the only thing preventing me from breaking a 35... I need a good MCAT score to make up for the other crap on my resume that sucks. Good numbers alone won't help me get in, but they sure as hell will help. Hopefully I will get them.

I realized that my second to last sentence doesn't make sense. You all know what I mean though...

When is your MCAT? If it's far off in the future, reading a lot of "dense" material in the meantime might be helpful, not in terms of directly increasing your score, but making you a lot more comfortable to approach the reading that you'll have on the actual test.
 
August 19. I managed to snag the old EK book with the 85 min long passages and I plan on going through that. Then I'm gonna go over TPR again or something to stay fresh. Then I'm gonna go through the newer EK book since I hear that is the closest thing to AAMC/real MCAT verbal.

is it like an easy grade tho? I'm taking ochem this Fall but not the lab, couldn't fit it.

It really depends on how you're graded. If products/performance is a large portion of your grade, it's going to be much more difficult than if it weren't. If you're primarily graded on lab reports, it shouldn't be too hard.

Basically all the procedures in organic lab are long, boring, and extremely sensitive to error.

Mine certainly wasn't. Although it wasn't the lab reports it was the lab tests. They were ridiculously in depth and hardly anybody did decent on them. They were 20x harder then the lecture tests.

But I am assuming most labs don't have tests. Maybe my experience is totally different then anybody else's.
 
I'm taking my o-chem lab at a diff time , is that a bad thing since it coincides with the lecture?

I'll prob forget some things that's my only concern.

When i did O-chem.. the lab pretty much paralleled the class stuff.. But you can individually do the lab without having too much trouble even if you take it at a different time.. So as long as you don't have a teacher who is a total pain in the a**, don't worry..
 
Ochem lab helped me a bunch on the MCAT. Pay attention.

Like everyone else said, a lot depends on your TA/professor. Our lab reports are ~75% graded on post-lab questions which really make sure you understand the material. Once you learn the techniques, lab isn't "hard" at all, it's just time-consuming and repetitive after a while.

Haha, I'm nervous to start physics in the fall. It's my last pre-req (aside from biochem for some schools), but I have like no physics experience because I never got to take it in high school. Should be interesting.

I had none either, pulled an A in both I&II. Although I think a good teacher really plays a role in success in physics. My prof. was awesome. That being said I loved physics, I wished I would've majored in it.

Oh and ME3 looks sick.

I know, right? I'm so psyched for ME3. Can't wait to see how it all ends.

Well maybe people are right when they say RMP is inaccurate. Although that has never been the case for me.

I am just so excited that Liara and Kaiden/Ashley are back. I hated Jacob and Miranda.

It's all good, it was the same thing for me but with math, since I left HS early.

Good luck and yea i gotta take biochem as well later on tho.

nicee, my physics prof is supposedly known to be relatively easy, I'll see how it goes, but on the other hand my chem prof ehh idk hah
 
That 30 point curve does not sound awesome at all. I had this honors calculus II class where my two test scores were 40 and 27.5 and ended up with a B somehow in the class..? ha

Haha, same. I think I've had about a whole one professor who I've disagreed with the RMP consensus on.

Yeah, it'll be fun to have them back. I'm especially fond of Liara. I wasn't a huge fan of Miri or Jacob either, but then, I always tend to prefer the aliens over the humans for some reason.

Good luck! The other o-chem professor at my school gave out 30 point curves, but everyone still got awful grades on his exams, so hopefully it's not one of the "30 point curve that barely gives you a passable grade" sorts of curves.
 
I had an exam today (got a 94 😀) and then decided to go shadow on practically no sleep...downed 2 amps back to back....can we say :banana:

nicee, My class is starting tom, hopefully all goes well.

lol and how do amps taste?? I'm in love with monster, I tried rockstar, it has a bad aftertaste and sorta strong.
 
Amps are the best tasting energy drink in my opinion. They are a derivative of Mt. Dew (liquid crack). So it is like liquid crack ^ 2
