I'd say a change is in order. But I'd wait a while longer to see if you can think of anything even funnier or more original/fitting...that is unless you're sold on Juan Solo, which is also awesome, go ahead!

I like the name.

Hopefully it isn't taken. I tried to change my username to Babs and apparently there is an account with less than 10 posts with that username. I say, get rid of him/her because obviously they are not using it!

Hey everyone,

I'm on a couple alternate lists, and I'm having a really tough time deciding between 2 schools for a letter of intent. I've heard that at both the schools LOIs can have a big impact on your chance at getting in. I want to only choose one, and I'll need to send the LOI before decisions are made (aiming to send it Monday). I was wondering if anyone would want to toss me their $0.02, maybe over PM?



P.S. - I could have made a thread for this, but (A) I'd rather not have it public, especially for the schools who have accepted me, and (B) SDN as a whole can be super harsh, biased, and short-spoken at times, as opposed to all of you 🙂

Easy, write one for both. Tell them they're both your top choice and you'll withdraw from your other schools if accepted. If one accepts you, awesome! You don't have to withdraw until 5/15. If both accept you, even better! Wait until 5/15 to make your decision. :luck:

That sounds kind of sketchy 🙁 What I did was I sent a letter of intent to my top choice and changed the "top choice would withdraw from all others" portion of the letter of intent to make it into a letter of interest to the other. It may not work out as well for me, but whatever! Already accepted somewhere so it's not the end of the world 😛

Thanks, I thought it was funny because juan solo was my Halloween name when I dressed up as Han Solo ( I'm Mexican lol)

I mean, look at this entire process. I'm sure people have done far sketchier things than grovel to two nearly equally top-choice schools, you know?

I am actually trying to temper my excitement because I am still debating whether I can justify the extra expense...as an out of state person the total cost of attendance is almost $350k. :scared:

That's what I'm looking at total combined for OHSU (undergrad + grad): worth it! Besides, who knows, maybe you'll WIN that Point Foundation scholarship!! Good luck and congrats!
