I just got back my reviews of being a TA. Overall, I got a ton of great reviews saying that I was the best TA they have ever had, I know a ton of anatomy, I made them laugh a lot, gave them lots of great ways to remember stuff, etc.
Then, the last one just says, "You are very arrogant."
Haha
Every quarter I was a tutor for a supplemental instruction program I got anonymous reviews. Generally they were good but one quarter I had all great reviews except something like: "You are amazing! But you give me creepy looks when I get the answer wrong." I am never going to live that one down, my friends will make sure of it.
May 15th worked in my favor, too because my school called to tell me that I secured an on-campus apartment!!I'll find out my roommate in 2 weeks.
Up and about before 9AM. Workout --> drive to Philly --> check out two apartments --> department dinner --> pick up sister. The struggle is real.

I can't get grad housing on campus because the regular school doesn't start until late September and thus they lease out the apartments in mid September.
The medical school starts orientation August 27th...
It tastes bad?

Wow you guys start late
I thought you already lived in Philly?

Ugh I need to get on with the whole housing search..
I go to school in Philly. I'm home at my parents' house for the summer about an hour and change away.

Yeah, our orientation starts July 22nd and is 2 weeks long.
2 weeks?! What could you possibly be doing for 2 weeks?
My school is changing the curriculum this year, so they're integrating a quick introduction to being a doctor "course" into the orientation. Plus, they're spreading out the usual boring orientation sessions over the two weeks so that we won't be overwhelmed. We'll be kind of the guinea pig year for the systems-based curriculum, so we'll see how it goes. I'm kind of excited for it because unlike some other schools, we'll actually have a tiny bit of knowledge before white coat ceremony.
Hmm interesting. When is the first day of class?
I guess August 5th. They've been really unclear about absolutely everything. They've told us orientation is July 22nd. That's about it.
How are you guys going about finding housing all the way across the country? I plan on moving in at the very last minute because of wait lists...but either way schools starts in early august!

Okay this is a strange question. Is it weird to have a "send off" party before med school? I graduated last year, so it's not a graduation party, and my family's insisting on having one and I'm poor as can be so if people decide to bring something I wouldn't be upset about it. But it seems like it might be weird to people.
Any thoughts?![]()

By not buying a used one, you don't know what is/was on it😀

Yeah I'm staying far away from craigslist for my mattress. But I never realized how much a mattress cost! My coworker was like "never get it at full price! we got a great deal on a $6500 mattress for $2100"... and all I can think about is how ridiculous $2100 sounds 😱.
You could always do what my college housemate did and buy a used king mattress at Salvation Army for $50.
