LeBron without headband = Spurs' worst nightmare.

Luckily I'm neither a heat nor spurs fan, so I can just enjoy the final game! If I had a dog in this fight it would be different lol

Yeah, a friend of mine had his brother go through it. They call it the "clinical transition ceremony" but it is where we get the white coat (or so I am told).

The first year students have a stethoscope ceremony.
Wow, that's so bizarre. We start seeing pts our first week of classes and thus need our White Coats immediately. And you're at UW, right? I'm still in disbelief...

So has everyone gotten living arrangements for next year? How many of you are living alone? Is it worth the extra money?

Ditto.

We have a uniform for class and the white coat is part of it from day 1. I think it's an injustice not to have a ceremony marking the transition from premed to professional student. It's a rite of passage IMO.

I'll essentially be living in a dorm (medical fraternity, co-ed), but with my own private toilet and shower, 1 of only 7 such rooms out of like 30 or 50. It comes with all inclusive electricity, water, Wi-Fi, gated parking, industrial kitchen, maid services in the common areas, etc. I pay $350. WORTH IT! Those quarters will save me like $12-15k throughout medical school alone. Oh, and did I mention it's two blocks from class and rotations? LoL
I will destroy your dog GUERO STYLE
Darn skippy, yo! :diebanana:

I couldn't agree with you more. 👍

Got my arrangements. A house about a mile from the school/hospital. Living along for the first six months. Then the wife and daughter will join me. I'm the only one contributing so I'm shelling out 1K a month in rent. Boo.

A HOUSE BOAT!? Dude, that's AWESOME! Mad props, yo.

EDIT: Laughing insanely that I misread ABOUT. Hahahaha 🤣

Explain please

I guess it really depends on what you're comfortable with. I'm living with roommates because I need the extra money for frequent flights. I also enjoy the social dynamic of living with people. The downsides of roommates can take a toll though... different sleep schedules, different tolerances of messiness, significant others and thin walls, sharing appliances/bathrooms, their pets eating your xbox controller, etc.

1) I'm ready for football season. All this NBA talk is the worst.

2)Texas, there's no good way to pick up a girl at the gym. Unless you catch her checking you out first.

3) I'm really a girl https://www.dropbox.com/sc/5j169c4bigs01d3/JEc7oRE5eK

Haha I'm pretty sure she was checking me out first but every time I would make eye contact her face was a but unresponsive.....

3) hahahaa! Losing your privacy!

1. Yep, not a huge NBA fan. Ready to get into Fantasy Football again 😍

2. Pretty much, Tex. Simply not the time or place..

3. 👍

Thinking of hitting up a Hot Yoga class at my gym tomorrow - only kicker is it's at 9:30. And I have a feeling I might be one of very few guys there, judging from the crowd leaving the Yoga class today as I rolled into the gym.

Oh well, can't win 'em all 🙄

Our uniform is:

Slacks (any color, I'm going with khaki)
Monogrammed Scrub top (navy)
And monogrammed white coat

Sounds like WCU-COM. I know someone that goes there, and I interviewed there as well.

Fine ill mind my own business -.-

We also start seeing patient I first year, but we just don't get a white coat. I think this is supposed to make us stand out and realize that we don't know anything.

I think we just use scrubs and dress clothes for when we are doing stuff with patients. The white coat comes later.

Trust me, I am super bummed about this.

Do you wear tights to HY? :d

Also..

Orientation begins 8/5 for us (white coat is later that day!), lasts the entire week. Then we start classes the next Monday (8/12).

Haha, the only tights I have are my Underarmour legging/tights. Probably not the best if I'm going to be sweating 😛

Haha! We posted at the same time.

Lol. I'm ok with the dress code. Never have to worry about what to wear. And never have to wear a damn tie!

Orientation 7/29
First day of class 8/1
White coat ceremony 8/17

I can see how it'd facilitate humility; but it might also confuse the heck out of non-frequent fliers...

And that's when hot yoga got not hot.

I thought it looked professional, and I liked the idea of different classes having different colored scrub tops.

Looks very professional IMO. You can see some pics on their website. (Wmcarey.edu/com). And my class has the best color so far! Lol. Class of 2017 has navy blue scrubs.

WCUCOM just started building a new building for the COM. they are already expanding. I think the new administration is doing a great jobs and I think WCUCOM will be known as a great school in the future.

What are all the different colors?

Lets be real, I'm only wearing Marc Ecko scrubs.

All of our scrubs are Landau. They are great quality!

So far:
Class of 2014 Ceil Blue
Class of 2015 Teal
Class of 2016 Burgundy
CLASS OF 2017 Navy

Oh, I wasn't aware of them adding on. That's nice! I really liked the school and administration (especially Dr. Weir), but my wife would have a hard time finding a job in her profession in Hattiesburg. That is why I ended up choosing CUSOM because of the proximity to Raleigh.

You can, but it's anywhere from 85-105 degrees depending on the type of yoga. I would sweat my entire face off.
Good lawd! So extraordinarily skimpy shorts and a sports bra for you, then?

But what about the gentlemen? I couldn't imagine doing that in a coed situation...
