Two more weeks here. And I stay away from pre allo. Had enough when I was a crazy premed. Now when I open a pre allo thread I just shake my head. :-/

First Aid book-- it is basically a series of lists and diagrams summarizing everything you will learn as an MS1 and MS2 (for boards, at least) and almost everything needed to succeed on the Step 1 Board exam at the end of second year.

Basically, it's the Bible for med school.

Wow y'all, apparently I am behind on this whole med school thing already...but then again classes don't start for over a month.

Same here. I just moved into my apartment but still haven't unpacked. No internet there for like two weeks.

Right now I am at the airport, about to head to Vegas.

I move tomorrow! Then I have a week to get situated before I fly to DC for a few days.

Haha... do you generally just not drink on the days you work out? That's pretty much what I've tried to do, though it hasn't always worked out.

I generally don't drink (it's expensive), but I'll drink unless I have a race or game the next day (doesn't apply anymore since I don't do **** for a team). There was a year I partied despite having a game the next day... man that was stupid.
 
Well the first day was lloonngg.. So much administrative stuff. We did get our white coats and scrubs for anatomy though. Plus a 2 hour clinical exam to get a "base" score to compare to every year we take the test.....if I can get 30% of that crap right next year I'll be pumped..

I wonder if my school will do the exam. I hope not.

I've met a few of my classmates. We are going to have drinks tonight. I'm a lazy socializer. More of a people watcher. Lol

This is honestly what I'm most worried about. I'm gonna just try to be pleasant to everyone I guess and hope someone decides they like me. But making friends isn't exactly my forte. 🙁

It's going to be lonely on SDN when you guys start orientation. It'll just be me and the neurotic applicants who want to post pictures of the themselves in scrubs on Facebook.

I'm personally more saddened by the massive debt than leaving home. I choke up every time I think about that first year's bill. 🙁

Know what I'm honestly the most nervous about? Orientation and friggin' ice breakers. Every time I do ice breakers, I end up not being able to do them right/being awkward somehow. :laugh:

...Med school orientation isn't like undergrad orientation is it?
