Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
My slowcooker chili is almost ready: http://i.imgur.com/ArTzjdD.jpg

I just started a thing of Jambalaya and made a big pot of fried rice for the week.

Considering buying a larger crockpot (I think my current one is 3 quarts, 4 quarts?)..

Also, no anatomy until November when we actually start a real block. Pretty sure we have it over the first two years-ish as well.

I made a bunch of pre-mixed burrito filling (beans, rice, chicken cooked with onion & pepper, cheese)...but now I am realizing that hand held foods are a terrible idea. My hands will smell like dead people all the time.

This is at the UW and we just finished orientation. Classes start on tuesday with an epic 5-week anatomy binge. Didn't we just talk about this on FB?

ps, did you not catch my name change on here?

Oooooh, no, I didn't realize you changed your name.

Our anatomy is 4 months.

Ugh, still freakin sick and haven't studied since 5p Saturday. ::freaking out while painfully coughing::

I am jealous of all the longer anatomy classes. We are rushing through it. We start thorax tomorrow and finsh on Thursday for a test on Friday. Can you say stressful?

This was a great weekend for me. The first real break in four weeks.

We went waking boarding and surfing on Saturday and we went hiking and fishing on Sunday.

Signed up to be a "med school mentor" for an undergrad through the application season. I feel bad for the kid assigned to me #ToughLove

Your GPA is only 3.95? Well **** son, you are going to need a 45T to have any chance at med school. Just take the SN2 schedule and multiply that by 3. Hopefully that should be enough, if not, there's always nursing.

Or you could be like most pre-med advisors:

"Your GPA is a 3.0, and MCAT is a 26? Don't worry, you still have a good shot. Make sure all your app materials are in by October, though, it's important to be early."

45T? You are proving we are outdated! It should just be a 45 (no writing section anymore). It is going to be a 60 real soon. :scared:

Sigh.....so true

I am pretty sure I have already fallen behind and class doesn't even start for another 11 hours.

Well if it's possible to fall behind that must mean such a state of being 'caught up' exists. Such a hypothetical state should exist but to my knowledge, there is no proof of such a marvelous existence.

On a random note, I still don't feel like a med student. Yeah, I'm drowning in material, but I still feel oddly unwelcome in allopathic. Everyone is like a 10th year, like what the hell man.

Qtf.

Also... Changed my schedule. Now I'm getting up at 5 a.m. for quality study time before classes and for a morning workout. I worked hard to lose the weight... I'll be damned if I go through the freshman 15 (er 40) again!

Start washing and sanitizing your hands like your life depends on it; because getting sick in med school is like nothing you've ever dealt with before: I'm drowning in backed up pancakes trying to catch up here. 🙁

You gotta dip em in water.

I was sick the first week. It was annoying. I only had a mild cold though...thankfully. Had to eat all those extra pancakes over the weekend.

Agent B, apparently you failed history and geography!

Today definitely felt like being sprayed with the fire hose. Now time to wipe off the water and try to eat some pancakes.
