Wanna try to meet up? I'm in Philly until the 4th. How long are you in town?

I am in till Friday visiting my better halfs family . I'll text your phone later and we will see what's up.

Ugh, writing research proposal for the summer. Nothing like spending holiday break combing through pubmed to write a proposal about something you don't understand. :/

I need I figure out what else to do with my summer. My procrastination will haunt me.

Weren't you a research powerhouse (like lots of pubs/conferences, awards, grants etc.) in UG? Pretty sure you can own it in few hours

What kind of project are you doing?

Health services/outcomes research in surgery patients. It should be pretty interesting, I just have no familiarity with the area. I'm hoping that I can get into it this summer and get a pub out of it, and then be able to continue with the PI throughout the rest of school. I'm still on the fence about taking a research year, so this summer will help to figure that out as well.

Heh, I have a fair amount of research experience, but I wouldn't call myself a powerhouse. Couple of pubs and a couple of posters. But I should be able to get it done today. Plus my PI is one of the guys who allocates the summer funding for med students, so if he thinks it's fundable I should be fine.

Awesome. I'm planning on doing something pretty similar. I'm doing an MPH after year 2 which will be kind of like a pseudo research year.
