Do yall have any examples that what exactly you need to memorize for bio? too what certain extent?

I mean if it's literally what we learn in the course then it can't be too bad for each subject, all you have to do is memorize equations and all that crap.

well studying EK helps if you have a good science background but BR is better if you don't know **** about chem or physics

ohh kk nice, so EK is straight to the point.

i need to make a list soon on what material to use, when it comes time ill prob ask yall whats good or not and how y'all think about your prep material. Because i don't want to waste money.

yea maybe it is fake idk, but whatever she had cute little legs 😛

"she" needs to put another pic up for her avatar. She started this thread, she must contribute hah

Yep. 👍

The hard part is doing the passages and figuring out what the hell they're talking about. You've gotta know the material really well for bio to put things together. I've heard the latest MCAT had a killer BS section.

Yeah EK is short and straight forward but if you did not do well in your classes, it might be difficult to follow

Yeah for bio, you have to know it not just memorize

dammit... Yea I'm not really good with that sh**. Lol and there's a verbal reasoning section....

Man when i take the prac tests and score low as hell, I'd be so scared.

Yeah. Check out the MCAT section. Lots of great advice there and I'm sure the 2017ers will help you out, too 😀

I finished reading the first book for BR. Gonna start the second one this week. Then I'll have to go back and make sure I know everything 😛

When you say read do you make notes or just read?

if that makes any sense

Yeah for bio, you have to know it not just memorize

ahhh, that's what the prep material is for right. Like you know the memorization part but the prep material expands your knowledge and gets you ready for the type of questions that will be on the real thing.

I was pretty scared after my diagnostic test, but I've realized I can improve a lot from reviewing and practicing and that's how you'll feel, too. You're smart. I'm sure once you start practicing you'll pick up the way the MCAT works in no time 👍

use Ek 101 for verbal. keep practicing everyday and you will get used to it.

Hopefully man, and thanks.

well some of the concepts on Ek, they will tell you to memorize which is bad if you don't graps it for their 30 minute test at the end  i remeber taking my first bio test and scored a 4

alright cool cool i needa check these things out. How did you figure out what material is right for you, research or trial/error?

I just read. Taking notes is distracting for me and throws me off, but if it works for you, go for it.

lmao, but yea hopefully when i get the material it won't be as bad as i think. The only thing that kinda worries me is RLC. You know i get the good grades but the info I'm getting isn't enough ya know? But you been there, so I'm sure your doing fine as of now.

+1 I've been doing EK101 everyday and I've seen quite a bit of improvement. Started at a 5 on diagnostic, but now I'm seeing 10s!!!

i went to the mcat forum and saw what the majority used and i followed it.

Yea i was on there and just so many diff mixed opinions and I was trying to figure out which one was used the most. i'll have to go back to that.

damn... nice

So is BR more advanced in as they teach you things if you have a bad background and EK is straight to the point?

i had a decent bio teacher at RLC. she explains stuff well and i am doing well on my Ek bio exams. never scored lower than a 10 on the bio sections.👍

yeah i just read. don't take notes but later when you take a test and the ones you failed. take notes to remember them.

I try to analyze my mistakes as much as possible, but sometimes they pull in material from things I have covered yet and it throws me off. I know I'll figure it out once I actually review the material, though!

EDIT: 2000!!!! :soexcited::hardy::biglove::banana:

you guys are rocking it man. i gotta hurry up and join the bandwagon. But i gotta finish up me pre-reqs hah

Is it doable to start prepping without physics 2 and ochem 2, or is it better to wait till you have everything.

that is what practice is for. just keep trying eventually you will kill it 👍

Yeah. BR is more detailed all around and EK assumes you know basics. I would definitely recommend BR for chem/phys. EK isn't that great for those sections from what I hear. Unless you're just amazing at those subjects.

i haven't taking any ochem yet but i am doing well on the physical sciences:laugh:

same here. i started with a 6 then improved to a 13 😱

Nice!!! I'm hoping I can bring it up to a 11-12 and keep it there! Hopefully I can get a 30+. I might end up applying to DO schools even if I get 30+, just to be safe.

BR for gen chem 1/2 and ochem 1/2 physics 1/2 ?

You can definitely use EK orgo since it'll be fresh, but BR definitely for Chem/physics. The practice passages alone are worth it 👍
