Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
......I said something similar during the third quarter of organic chemistry. 🙁 it was more like "That was a fascinating test!"

I developed an appreciation for orgo after the final was over... well after it was over...

I really enjoyed one of my neuroscience exams, it was just like "WHOAAA this shiz is soooo coming together right now!"

I love how we're all such nerds and proud 😀

thanks man. i need to get my post count up in this thread . you are like 1000k post ahead of me 😱.

Things will pick up eventually 😀 For now you're doing what's more important 👍

Hahahaha, ohhhh yeah. It's gotten better though. It was mostly due to the fact that my high school woefully underprepared me to take any sort of science class, so I had to bust my arse to learn them all from scratch, and was concurrently freaking out about it. I guess being paranoid has gotten me done with requirements pretty fast though, so it was worth that one prefrosh summer of xtreme worrying.

In the end it was a good choice 👍👍

then you just attend on a regular basis. after all, a little partying can't be that bad 😀

I guess so. I'll have to check some out this semester. See if I like the atmosphere

My school is full of gunners looking to pick off the weak students. Its sad. I wear my gunnerproof vest to class everyday.

Neither. I was interested in finding out what this medical thing was about. I wanted to be an Epidemiologist when I came into college not realizing that some were doctors.

This is simply horrible. I feel like it would kill all my enthusiasm for learning. There are definitely a few really annoying kids, but the majority are actually fairly chill. My least favorites are the ones who pretend not to care but gun like no other, and those that are constantly in the professor's face asking really, really, really smart questions.

Do you go to a small liberal arts school?

Definitely, it actually made me love science, believe it or not. After high school, I had the attitude of "just get through pre-med sciences, take no extra science" and came out of sophomore year with a love of science. Who knew?

I distinctly remember my freshman fall talking to this random girl and stating, very firmly, that I never, ever, wanted to declare a Biology major. 😛

Let me try to find it. I know the article that references it is on time.com(w/ Dr. Drew)....but let me try to find the original.

So...who did you find on facebook? 😕 Still wondering 😛

Haha. I just read an article about how <4 shots of alcohol can affect your cognitive performance for >1 week.

Uh oh. I guess that welcome freshmen party will have to wait until after I take the MCAT 🙁

Here is where I pulled the quick fact from:

Point out to them that a single binge — that's four shots of liquor — can affect them for up to a week, and studies show it can affect grade-point averages. Ask academically focused students if they want to handicap themselves competitively with alcohol.

yeah and this is when i'm doing 80 on the highway

Dang...that's really far 😱 I'm guessing you'll see her every weekend or something. Do you have siblings and are they with her?

Yeah, actually. I love it! I can't imagine going to a university now that I've experienced it.

What about you? University?

Yeah...big state school. I should have made a decision more carefully. Should have just gone to a CUNY. Oh well.

I was going between a big research university and small liberal arts college (I didn't apply to colleges with the intention of matriculating to only one or the other kind of school), and I think I definitely made the right decision. The small school definitely still doesn't "hold your hand", but you do get a lot of personal attention from professors, and I just feel like I've learned how to think a lot more deeply than I was able to before, about everything.

Ahh, I don't know if I would've survived at a big school. The only negative side of a small LAC is the party scene: with a small population, the scene gets very stale, very fast. But since I'm pretty nerdtacular anyway, this problem only affects me if I've decided to step out of the library for once.
