YOU HAVE AN ENDOCRINOLOGY CLASS AT YOUR SCHOOL??????? I may hate you now forever. All we have is Biochemistry II: Metabolism and the soon-to-be-discontinued Immunology. Oh, and "Biology at the Extremes", which is a whole freaking class about Archaea bacteria. We seriously have more ecology electives than we do in anything remotely related to human biology, it's kind of depressing. 👎thumbdown

👎 Yeah, I think in the end, it just boils down to what the professors have done research in, because that's what the profs like teaching. We usually have a pretty broad mix at my school, but it's sometimes years between when a good class like endo is actually offered haha. (Per esempio.) Cell bio hasn't been taught at my school for like, two years. And it's the one upper level besides the biochems that I really wanna take. So I probably won't be able to get it in my schedule once it's offered, with my luck. 🙁

Pretty much a bunch of readings and watching films of influential jazz musicians and the likes. I still don't have all the specifics 😛

Wow, that's awesome. We have eerily similar testing patterns man... my AAMC 10 score was a 33 😱

And overall my AAMC average was a 33.3333 (every 3 freaking counts 😡), with a definite upward trend towards the end).

Me too, a 32 would make me happy. Even if I get a balanced 30, I probably won't retake. There's just no way that a semester of "studying" will get me anywhere above that if I can't get a 30+ right now...

Right now I'm okay, but it fluctuates. I've been pretty sick recently, so I don't know. We'll see how I feel when it comes, I guess...

Hahah! Yeah man. you tried so hard getting to that average so every 3 counts 😀 It's good that you have an upward trend though; I started off with a 30 (AAMC 3) and only managed to pull it up to a 33 (AAMC 11) 😡

I have taken AAMC 11. But I have taken it pretty early during my studying schedule because I was told that it's the test that most closely resembles the actual thing. So I just took it before to see how the actual thing was.. And surprisingly I got my highest score in 11. I think that if I had taken it later, I'd probably have scored a 35 or something.

And yeah, school started this Monday. My biochem professor already assigned us three chapters worth of reading 🙁

Damn, your school offers a nice mix of bio classes. I wish mine did... I'm probably taking two of Animal Physiology/Microbiology/Biochem II: Metabolism my spring semester. I just don't know which two yet. I'm leaning towards the first two, since I'll have Biochem this semester.

Yeah, there were so many bio classes I wanted to take for fun that I just decided to make it a major. The only real sacrifice that requires is taking Genetics, which is unfortunately a REALLY useful class to have under your belt anyway, so I'll be better for it. Also, I won't be able to study abroad, but that's more to do with being pre-med than a double major, though the double major definitely contributes. I just couldn't imagine life without biology and Spanish, so I figured those were the natural choices of major, haha.

Great choice. Gotta do what you're passionate about, right? That's what we're all trying to do 😀😀

I feel you, man 🙁 Maybe try taking this herbal suppplement thing called valerian root, it sometimes helps me when I completely can't sleep. Or maybe some Advil to help with the pain? I've been having this weird cold where I have chills and then fever every single night when I go to sleep, it's really bothersome.

I visited the testing center today, the lady there was super-nice and understanding, hopefully she'll be kind to me tomorrow 😳 The place looked like a dungeon though, it was weird, they obviously wouldn't let me see the cubicles where the test-takers were at, since there were literally people taking the MCAT right there, but the testing area was really, really dark... it was weird 😱 I haven't studied at all today, just tried to relax a bit, but I'm going to go through a few last-minute things just to make myself feel better. And I still don't really understand solubility or phase changes all that well, so I'll go through that. Maybe through mechanics as well....j

And regarding Neil Patrick Harris.... I don't know. Everything is perfect but the face. The face just... doesn't do it. Just my $.02 though 😛
