ugghhhh i got ANOTHER B on my chemistry quiz WTFFFFFFFFF
 
i got a 50 on my first ochem quiz 👎 very minor mistakes but at least i know what i need to do for the upcoming test🙂

i wonder how much quizzes are worth tho.

at least she drops like 2 i believe
 
just got back from my integrative nsc review session. One of the TA's put together test review questions...very tricky but so helpful 👍
 
conformations and chair drawings are confusing, idk where to start..

like i get the idea but i need to do some problems, have another quiz this coming Thursday...

The other day someone in the front row of my physics class fell asleep and my prof started talking to him trying to wake him up, but it didn't work for awhile :laugh:

iunnoo...i think that everyone on here is normal, and these are the stats everyone has and that i'm constantly falling behind!

Those really are all about practice. Just draw the conformations a bunch of times until you know it really well. Same with chair drawings. Axial vs equatorial 😀

Far from it. Well, most people on here share their stats (their dominance) so they don't really have to brag about it, but I prefer that. A lot of people are modest about their GPA/ECs, even though they're like super amazing. That's cool, too. But the people on here are definitely not representative of a majority of students applying. Hence why the GPA/MCAT scores are lower for the average. I think trying to compete with people on here is great for you, but not having a 4.0 isn't the end of the world.

I don't know. I probably have a VERY skewed outlook on what it takes to get into a 'good' medical school. I've worked my ass off, so I want to get into at least a a mid-tier school that's near the top..or like the lowest of the top. 😎 If that makes sense.

Well thanks 😛. But like you said earlier SDN makes you feel like you haven't done well enough. I was told by some on here my MCAT score will keep me out of top tiers :scared:

Yeah, cg already had two quizzes. That is a lot. If you have lots of quizzes, that will give you more opportunity to do better.

Idk what you're worrying about with a 4.0 and a 33. Stop worrying! :laugh: You're getting in to most schools you apply to, unless they're all in the top 10 😛

Well, you're aiming high, but at the rate you're going, you will get into the top schools. 👍👍

i'm somewhat forced to 😳 cali schools are at the top, and so are any OOS-friendly private colleges.. super screwed here.

That's what we are doing right now. Just finished chapter 4 of Mcmurry.

It's nice to hear other students doing the same things! 🙂

You've already got awesome ECs and you're only starting sophomore year. And you're staying in college for 5 years? I'm sure you're gonna find a lot of ways to make your app stand out like the sun among the sky :laugh:

You guys are way ahead of the class at my school. They just finished constitutional isomers and the like.

SDN makes me feel stupid sometimes. I don't like the IRL gunners. It is way scarier when they do it to your face. Yikes.

Otherwise, I feel lucky to be in this journey with you guys. It might take me a couple of tries to get into med school, but I think it is worth the ride!

CG: You should apply to Toledo and Oakland near me...you can also try Wayne State. 🙂

you guys talking about these courses makes me look back on them. My orgo 1 class was 100 people we have 1 test per chapter (about 4-5). My orgo 2 class was the same with 1 test per chapter.

I WISH we had quizzes! I would have been happy.

Being on here makes me feel like a failure. I am disappointed in a C.. a B for me is normal and good and a A is a dream come true.

Though, I have never been someone that studies real well or cared about school all that much. Which could account for the GPA I have, but am working on changing.

You are here, and that is what counts! Different schools have different expectations. Anyone who is able to take organic chemistry is probably really smart. It's when a whole bunch of smart kids get together is when some of us start feeling insecure. 🙁

I wish that I had quizzes too! We have a total of six exams for this semester. That seems like a lot of tests to me.

Congrats on making it through ochem! 🙂

Ugh the IRL Gunners some one was just talking about (I forget who posted it).

So I'm friends with some of the people at my undergrad's BS/MD program, where you had to be a high school gunner to get accepted essentially (I'm not in it). They asked me how I did on the MCAT and now they act like different toward me, just because I scored better than them. Ugh, they already have a seat at a medical school, WHY THEY SO MAD?

lol wut? whyyyyy???!? that's sooo lame. i don't understand people gunning against each other if you're in different years either. 😕 like it's not going to help you get into classs of 20XX if I'm in class of 20YY.

6 does seem like a lot! Yeah ochem was interesting to say the least. We had a good professor that taught us life lessons during ochem 😀

yea the only ones i have are in my integrative neuroscience class... lame..

none in my ochem class, but i signed up for some course that has no credits and its group led for ochem👍 hopefully that helps a lot, got one for physics too.
