Guess what guys, I've started my official MCAT studies *le gasp*
Thanks... I've just gotten really sick today though ): Soar throat and all that jazz.
Also funny tale: my best section so far is OChem. Which section is least represented in the MCAT? Ochem. HAH! <_<
Mine come out at 8pm tonight, and because my teachers love to make me anxious they probs won't release it a minute early.![]()
Medical Terminology A
Evolution and Ecology B
Social Psych A
Adolescent Psych A
Organic chem A
Ochem lab A
Cumulative 3.57 🙁
Almost a 4.0 semester. 👍👍
looks like im finishing the race last... just took the last three finals today....must...get... some...😴
We're on the same boat. Just finished finals today and got back home 😎
hope u did well
I'll just say my gpa increased by 0.06. So it wasn't the best ordeal but it could have been a lot worse so I'm happy 🙂 On to next quarter!!
Alright class of 2017, I think I need some advice regarding rec letters. Here is my situation:
- I have one science professor letter wrapped up (orgo II, didn't talk to my professor a whole lot or anything but had the highest grade ever on his final)
- Will get another another science prof. one either from my bacteriology professor this semester or one of my other MMI professors next semester
- Also have one coming from my PI that will be very strong
Oh another note, my school doesn't have a pre-med committee or anything so I need individual letters. Anyway, all I'll have left then is a non-science professor. My question is, how would it look to get a letter from my weightlifting instructor next semester?
Pros:
If it's the guy I'm thinking of, I've talked to him before and he's really nice
It would should more of the athletic side of me and my personality
I will talk to him for more than any professor I've had so far in college
Cons:
It's weightlifting, not really a real class
So, what do ya'll think?
tl;dr --> Is a letter from a weightlifting professor appropriate for a non-science rec letter?

You don't know any non-science professors to ask? I'd get one from both just to be safe.

Unfortunately no. Every non-science lecture I've had is 200+ people and I'm not really the type to go into office hours and pretend like I have questions when I don't (I'm pretty strong in non-science subjects).
I'm also taking an English class next semester, but it will be ~250 people in the lecture and TAs will really be the only people that we interact with.
I have the same problem, but for sciences. My science classes have been from 300-1000 students...I think it would be in your best interests to go to your english professors office hrs every week next semester and get to know them. I've been doing that with profs this semester even if I have nothing to talk about just so they know me by face. That's the only option I could think of =/
🙂I have to wait until like thursday or something...I'm dying here, lol. I'm hoping we both come out on top! 🙂🙂
so what is everyone doing for the break? I have hardly been on this site because of the workload from this past semester so I'm catching up on threads and sleeping. I must say i'm loving that "ask an EM resident" thread!

I started watching Breaking Bad. Excellent series, I highly recommend it. I'm also going to go to Chile and Bolivia over the break.so what is everyone doing for the break? You guys are lucky. I still only have one of my grades. And I still need to take another final on Wednesday.
Also, my best friend at school is going abroad next semester. And it's his birthday next week. I feel like getting him something, but I'm a bad gift-giver. And I hate those goodbyes where you're "parting ways" for an extended period. #Awkward social things you wish you could skip. 🙁
I think your avatar might be creepier than mine. 😍whats wrong?![]()
I'll check it out🙂 Chile and Bolivia? Sounds awesome!👍 I wish I was going to Italy or something.I started watching Breaking Bad. Excellent series, I highly recommend it. I'm also going to go to Chile and Bolivia over the break.
Yes, the EM resident thread is great!
lol that sucks you got sick im sorry. Hope you are feeling better🙂 What specialty are you shadowing?Studying for MCAT, working, and shadowing. My first relaxed days were over the weekend because I got sick -__-" I need a break from this break.
I'll be your best friend! 😀 If I were you I'd get him something he like 👍 And I still don't have any of my grades, but I have a feeling I'm going to get the lower grade in one class because of .5% 🙁
You're already my other best friends. 😛 Hope your grade ends up working out, maybe they'll bump it up or something.
I was thinking about doing some more shadowing over break, too! I've always wanted to shadow GI for a more extended period, and I've kind of wanted to shadow rheum too. Maybe I'll give them a buzz later and ask about after the holidays.
