Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Anyway working on secondaries? They're even harder than the PS! Sooo many essays--and I'm supposed to come up with enlightening insights each time??! I almost don't want AMCAS to submit to schools so soon, b/c I just started my secondaries and writing is such a slow process.

That is all. Ok, back to biting the bullet and getting this done!!

Can someone just tell me really quickly what goes on with AP scores? I looked it up here and in the amcas website but im slightly confused.
I have a lot of credits, and especially gen chem, from AP classes/

I completely agree. Some of these are very hard - I am trying to be way more introspective but so far it is not going well. 4 days of thinking about a few of them on and off and I have half of one written haha.....SIGH.

I am in the same boat as you (with gen chem credit as well). From what I've seen, most schools will accept at least some AP credit for pre-reqs, especially if you take upper division coursework. Here is a link that I saw in an earlier thread a while back. Not sure how current it is, though. My advice would be to go to each school's website and search for whether they accept AP credits or not

Shoot, how did I miss this thread.

Checking in. Just started secondary essays. Ugh.

I was just verified yesterday afternoon and woke up to four secondary application emails. It's a busy time of the year indeed!

I'm still waiting to be verified.. My transcripts arrived on 6-18 and that was the last time my application was updated on amcas... Hopefully it will be any day now :xf:

Oddly, I have received some sort of secondaries from LSU, BSU, and UC...?
Has anyone else received these sort of things, even though your AMCAS has not been sent?

The secondary process really seems to be on the fritz this year...

Seriously. Not sure how normal it is, but a bunch of the schools I'm applying to have had glitches. VCU even pre-secondary rejected a bunch of people on accident.

Bump! Hope everyone's doing well!

I was verified yesterday, so now just beginning the arduous process of wading through secondaries..it's going to be a long month 😴

Still waiting for my primary to get verified. Went under-review on 7-17. 🙁

Know what's worse than the waiting game?

Finding superstars on SDN in every thread I click.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm no superstar. Just yo' average (maybe even below average, haha) Joe with a dream. 😀

Does everyone have top choices?

as;dfja Where's torshi. I got top and you didn't. Last summer you always got top.

My school list is *really* top heavy. My top choices are actually my state school and Iowa, so all those top schools are just me applying for fun and seeing what happens. I'm thinking of adding Northwestern to my school list because I recently found out they classified LGBT applicants as URM.

That is cool. I feel like it would be easy for one to take advantage of though.

I wouldn't put it past some fellow pre-meds to try though...haha

OH GOD. 🙄 I can see it now...

Adcom: Would you say that growing up LGBT has had an influence on your decision in pursuing medicine? What do you think are some of the major issues currently in LGBT health, and how may medical schools address those issues?

Fake-Gay Student...I like men.
