Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
That horrible moment when you realized you've botched a screen protector installation and need to get a new one.

Then that horrible moment when Best Buy doesn't have any left in stock.

Then that horrible moment when you have to order it online and now have to wait for it to come.

I swear, I've installed like ten Zagg screen protectors in my lifetime without any problems. FML.

noob.

Driverless cars are going to make me happy and sad at the same time.

The only thing is that it will not happen easily because people will want to still drive used cars which won't be driverless

I'm not a noob!!! :scared:

In any case, just got Little Big Planet Karting for PS3, and it's freaking awesome! I can't wait until they add the function to import all previous costumes!

You have to go old school and go Super Smash Bros and Katamari Damacy. I miss those Smash Bros and Left 4 Dead 2 parties we had in college. Aah, the life of a geek.

It's not that expensive... you're doing it wrong (Japan). While in cities, if you don't mind living out of 24hr places.. u can really stretch yourself out... maybe splurge on a cheap hostel for the weekend to get ur sanity back.... You can also easily hitchhike... but that one probably doesn't work out so well if your not Japanese

Haha, maybe. I was thinking more about food. It's not THAT much more expensive compared to other cities, but when you're spreading 1000$ over 6 months instead of a few weeks it adds up quickly, and is far more expensive than, say, Cambodia.

Incredibly nice, though. I'd love to go back 🙂

Oh and just curious, has anyone here brought a copy of your publication(s) to an interview to share with your interviewer(s)? I just had one come out last week and I'd love to bring it to my next interview. I am just unsure if this is common practice or not.

Might be overkill - if you can explain it to them such that they understand, that might impress them more than you simply handing it to them. Shows real mastery and understanding of your research instead of simply going through the motions.

And I just sat down for the first time today since 9AM - been running around in the lab ALL day. I just want to finish this week off so I can take time off next week 😴

I just figured it would make for some good talking points. It is an editorial, so it's nothing experimental or anything. I'm am just interviewing at my TOP choice soon so I would really like to impress.

And I have been on my feet all day too,so I definitely know how you feel. Good thing for hour lunch breaks 🙂.

Don't waste precious interview time on your interviewer reading something.

This.

Speaking from the perspective of a "future interviewer" (😉), I wouldn't want to read an article procured during the interview. I'll be coming in with a tentative plan already in mind - one that I hope to follow. If the interviewee mentions their publication, and if it interests me, I'll ask about it. I don't necessarily want yet another paper to juggle around.

As an applicant, I guess it can't hurt to have a copy in your folder...then at the end of the interview, ask if they would like a copy. Just don't read too much into it if they say "no thanks." 😉

I would bring the publication just in case. In some interviews they ask you at the very end if "there is anything else that you'd like them to know." If the interviewer does ask that I would then go ahead and talk a bit about my latest piece of news... I would not ask them to read it right then but could offer the copy in case they are interested on taking a look later... but that is all up to you and how the interview goes. :luck:

I talked about one of mine during my interview, and my interviewer said he'd like to read it, so he gave me his email address and I sent him the PDF that night. I don't think I'd actually bring a copy with me, especially if it's just an editorial.

If you can't install a screen protector, how you will you be able to place a central line Dr Strange?!

Replace NBA 2K13 with Halo 4, and you've got the next 8 months for me. Not sure if I want to learn mandarin or japanese...

Same on Halo4 once I get connected to XBL. I want to learn Mandarin but I can't find a decent Torrent.
