I've already done two. They're fascinating...but kind of smelly.![]()
yeah, my PCP basically plugs his ears if I were to even mention I have a problem. So, you boys can have selective hearing when you're physicians as long as you know your female patients have a gyn to talk to.
Time for some gifs.

Haha you are bound and determined to keep this thread at the top!
This thread isn't going to bump itself...
Omg, this head ache!
That amazing feeling when you called in sick to work legitimately feeling ****ty at the time, and then feel fine 2 hours later.
😀
With you, man, everyday. 👎
Unfortunately for me this is my own fault and is a result of last night
So bored. 🙁
Time for some gifs.

Hahah I know the feeling. I have no taste for alcohol after a heavy night of drinking.....at least not until I have a few drinks then I'm good to go again 😀
Ouch.
🙁
But you know what they say; never mix business with pleasure😀
This. So this.
I mean watching my wife give birth was bad enough but if I worked on stuff like that all the time...no

Have you guys ever seen a C-section? Now THAT is legit.
The alien birth scene in Prometheus is pretty much how I envision the day to day work of OB.

What an awful scene.
Wow.
Just read an article on medscape. Apparently Angelina Jolie tested positive for BRCA1 and opted for prophylactic double mastectomy. I know these things happen all the time, but it's still kind of shocking.
Yeah. Particularly interesting considering Peggy Orenstein's recent NYT article about over-awareness of breast cancer.
Didn't they say she had an 85% chance of developing it though? Thats a pretty high percentage, even if it is just over your lifetime and you get it when you turn 80. Not sure if your article covers this, but shes also going in to get one of her ovaries removed as well.
Yep. 87% breast cancer risk, 50% ovarian. I don't blame her.
Yeah apparently her risk of breast cancer went from 87% down to something like 5%

I think it was the right call too, but for some reason shes facing a huge backlash over her choice. I've seen a lot of comments and articles accusing her of supporting that testing company, of overhyping the risks since she wasn't diagnosed, and of only doing it because shes rich and can afford it. Not too sure where the anger is coming from 🙁
It's the promotion of her plastic surgeons and a particular type of nipple reconstuction that has garnered the ire.Yeah, that doesn't make any sense. Besides, anyone who thinks someone would do a double mastectomy as a promotional thing is a little crazy...
