Class of 2017!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

Hahaha nah, I'm not doing it to get ahead or anything. I just have all these ideas in my head and I love writing/researching. My gf is usually my writing partner but since she is applying to this cycle I figure she has enough things to write about.
Oh no, homieliciousness, I didn't mean it like that! I feel the same way 🙂love: research). I just love exaggerating the term because it's so overused. 🙂

EDIT: Plus, my second primary author pub doesn't look like it's coming to fruition on account of my busy-as-a-bee mentor, which I'd have been working on anyway.

Cute as buttons!

EDIT: Or crazy, both work!

hahaa... we should also be collaborating on which happy hour to attend 🙂

What? Common core reading book was just assigned for UWSOM? I didn't know we had a common reader for medical school...

Guess I have homework already.

Luckily it's already on my bookshelf & I'm halfway through it. Gabor Mate is a pretty cool guy.

Honestly, I haven't found a single reason to stick with Xbox (and I've owned them since the beginning). The ps4 has a better gpu, the same cpu, doesn't require a constant internet connection to play games offline, doesn't prevent you from buying/selling used games, and to top it all off, is $100 less.

And you don't pay for online multiplayer

Okay so guys seriously.

PS4 or Xbox One?

I'm in a serious dilemma. Everything points to PS4 but I want to still play halo games..... And the live experience is better

You'll have to pay for online multiplayer for the ps4 as well, but it's still cheaper than Xbox live at $50/year. You can also do other online things for free (e.g. Netflix), whereas you won't be able to with the Xbox One.

ps4 ftw

Wait seriously?!

And the new Xbox doesn't support apps like Netflix?! Even the current 360 does this

I don't know why I'm so attached to Xbox. The ps3's controllers are so bad compared to Xbox. I hope it's not the same this time...

They're coming out with some kind of new (albeit expensive) controller. Haven't had time to really look into it yet though. I'll read up on it when I get home from work tonight.

To each his own. I think the 360 controllers are a piece of **** for anything but shooters.. and even then I can still play a shooter well with a PS3 controller.

Mouse/keyboard will never be beaten.

Miss the days of Cal..

Man those were the days..

(NSFW) Best PS4 over Xbox One I've seen yet

I swear 2/3 of the employees at Microsoft are trying to put the company out of business and upper level management just hasn't realized it.

Without fail every time they come out with something new it feels like they did a ton of in depth focus groups to see what users would want, and then implemented the exact opposite in their products.

I never played enough for CAL, I played in a few TWL matches on occasion. Haha.

Also, the struggles of working for a public university. I was forced to pay into their retirement program at 5%. Since I only worked there for a year and I don't want to keep track of some random $500 in a retirement plan for the rest of my adult life and I'm about to take on a bunch of debt, I want to withdraw my money now. Gonna cost 20% income tax up front, I have to fill out a form and get it ****ing notarized, and wait 60-90 days for processing. Ugh.

I am even considering a mac again.. that's how much I've been put off by various things the last couple of months.

I would linux it but my school doesn't seem to open to the idea judging by their computer website 🙁

I'm in the exact same situation. Not sure how heavily it's taxed here yet because the lady in charge of it has yet to return the 18 voicemails I've left her. But I paid something like $1500 into it. Really frustrating.

Whoa, lets not do anything crazy now. Mac? :scared:

If you used a linux distro I bet the guys in your school's IT dept would love you, though if you can't run the software you need for school it probably wouldn't matter. 😳

No one actually fails their titers right? I just went in for, hopefully, my last pre-requisite related appointment for this summer. Feels good 😎

Wow, re: the retirement accounts? I have well over $10k saved because I uber dropped into it and had the company match. But I'm planning to hang on to it since it grows so fast and in case something happens to me before I can reap the rewards of being an attending without student loan debt...

Smart or fart? Go!

Not a terrible idea if you didn't need the money. I didn't want to pay into it because I needed the money for high interest credit card debt from undergrad/applying to med school 🙁

I double checked. Linux is not mentioned.. doesn't really matter since this system has Win7 on it..

Well.. at least you can still CS on linux

Done. What's the location?

By south coast plaza. Seafood and beer!

I'm keeping my money in retirement too. I have too much in there to withdraw. Though I haven't quite figured out what I'm supposed to do to keep it there yet.

I'd keep it in there since that's an appreciable amount of money. For me the amount is so small that any growth I'd get will be outweighed by the time and annoyance of keeping track of it.

Yeah, I figured keeping it in there was best. I'd love to have the money, but it'll grow fast and be cheaper to take it out later. It'd cost me like $2k just to withdraw it.
