What is with the new style of SDN
I like it though
 
Did anyone else hear that if you are interested in a specialty, you should meet with your program chair? I heard this recently, and don't know if it's true.
 
Maybe shadow and maybe research as an M1, but probably don't bother seeing them in any other capacity until after you get your step 1 score.

Attendance policies suck. I wish I could Tegrity everything. It's kind of like the NFL, the on screen experience at home has gotten better than actually attending the game.
 
Still haven't been to any non-required classes since the 2nd day of school. Feels good.
 
I wonder why it's so funny for SDN to have changed every "I" to a "me"? I am pretty sure it's for April fools day, but why is it so funny? Lol

Pathology is kind of a lot of what is talked about in my systems classes, so pathoma has been quite helpful for me so far. It was invaluable for blood and lymph. So far in neuro I haven't found much use for it.
I don't know if there's some sort of free trial version so you can try it out, but I think it's worth it.

Path at our school is hit or miss and since NBME exams are our final exam it just makes sense to use his source.

In my opinion I really like it because Dr. Sattar cuts out the BS that most path texts include.
 
Having a random required something or other every week really throws off my schedule of staying home all day..

Lol I answered that question quite literally Juan. It is a really good source and isn't gunning if it can get the job done with less work. That's just studying smart IMO.

I use pathoma as my sole resource for all the pathology we do. I stopped looking at the lectures, because it was a waste of time, when I could get all that is important and testable in less than an hour.

I don't think it's useful beyond path though.

Thanks for sharing. My curriculum has a decent amount of integrated pathology and I wanted to see what some peoples experience with it has been so far.
 
I helped do an autopsy today. The most shocking thing for me was that the person donated their long bones. I didn't know that was a thing. This is what it reminded me of.

Edit: I should add that the actual arm bent way more (like a full 180 degrees) with no help. You picked it up and the distal part just flopped over.
