I read on one of those AMCAS documents that a paragraph/ENTER button is one character, and you should probably paste everything into notepad and then copy and paste that into the application. I'm thinking, in Word, the paragraphs look separated just by pressing ENTER once. Wouldn't it look different in notepad/the application?

Is that what it would look like? If so, does that mean I need to account for ~6 extra characters to properly separate the paragraphs?

I guess this seems like a silly question, but I'm most likely going to try to use up the character limit. Right now I'm trying to cut everything down. I'm too verbose. 😳

If you want to format it like that, yeah. I say disregard the different paragraph format in order to save spaces

I've been writing my descriptions here and there. I just wrote my tutoring description and I went to highlight, tools, word count... Characters with spaces: 700.

What the heck? How has it been over 6 hours and I've only gotten 2.5 of my most meaningful essays done? I think I might be the slowest writer eevvvveeerrrrr

Probably a good idea. I just hope they'll be able to distinguish between each paragraph.

I would take out the part about initially seeing medicine as lucrative. Ever notice that rich people never actually talk about money?

"learn as if you were to live forever, live as if you were to die tomorrow."

Maybe include a segway into your 4th paragraph. Something like "knowing more about the medical field, I made it a priority of mine to succeed in academia so I could pursue that goal". Now this leads you straight into the beginning of your 4th paragraph, which begins with talking about your grades.

And lastly, talk about what made you want to go back into medicine. Something like "after reconsidering medicine, I moved to a variety of other possible careers but nothing could grab my attention the way medicine did."

Looks good bro. I wouldn't try to scam any more new material in, just expand on what you have and polish.

In other news, my personal statement draft is getting owned .... 😆 People are saying good stuff, but needs a little more focus and such. Good work on it sometime this week.

I'm just rotating all the writing sections, so I have time to review them with fresh eyes before submission.

I know what you mean about rough drafts getting owned. I just got a comment today that one of my most meaningful essays was stronger than my entire personal statement. Where is the cry hysterically smilie? :laugh:

Studying for my O-chem lab exam tomorrow. Looked at the practice test - No nothing .... :help:
 
Do you write down DO shadowing on AMCAS? And vice versa for AACOMAS?

I'm shadowing a FM-DO in 6 hours lol, should prolly be sleeping, but Scrubs + Raisin Bran is nice. Also, Iron Man 2 is on, mmhmm redhead Scar-Jo.

lol seriously, peoples be hella far into their apps :laugh:. I actually already have all my activities and 2 of my most meaningful activities done (pleasures of being a reapplicant that saved their AMCAS app 🙂 🙁 )

my very first draft of my PS was completely eviscerated when i brought here. I totally redid it when i finally applied. I don't know if i want to bring this new draft here. :scared:

Not sure about AACOMAS, but there's no reason you shouldn't list shadowing with a DO on AMCAS.
