Wait, you're already in seven jobs now... 😕

U of I has crazy OOS tuition though. Like on the level of 90K/yr. Don't want to deter you from applying there, but thought you should know.
Now I've still got 1 more spot to select, lol
I want it to be either a reach or a reasonable school in a terrific area. I have no Florida ties but I'd die to live in Tampa! USF???
My list is at 26 and I think I pretty set on it now ... Have about 10 super reaches so that accounts for the high number.
Someone read my PS and he said you don't talk about "Why you would make a GOOD physician" ... So yeah ... I don't really talk about it. At this point ... I don't really want to change my PS too much anymore so we'll see how I can change it.
I put 0 for the two scholarships I got and 2 hours (the actual poster presentation length) for my posters. I think Adcoms should be smart enough to figure it out ... haha
Also, I put all 6 of the doctors I shadowed onto one activity ... I was really basic like Name, Type of Doctor, Email, Hours. No descriptions at all ...
NOT WITH THAT ATITUDE! 😡
How about Rush? It's more in the city isn't it?
I'm applying to 4 of the Chicago schools (Chicago, NW, Loyola, Rush) ... And I think 5 in NY (Columbia, Sinai, NYU, NYMED, Einstein). 9 out 26 of my list in two cities alone. GG on my wallet flying from Seattle if I get more than one interview.![]()
Agreed. I just decided to take out UI today. It's in a nice place but man ... do not want to pay that much if it happens to be the only school I get in to...

That's two votes and I think VCU is more in line fit wise!
I could do now. I don't want my daily post average to be too high.Hopefully, muchos gracias for the positivity. You'll get in somewhere.
Yeah it sucks.So many in-state biases... 🙁
Thinking about Miller, but I'm not sure if I could handle that heat lolDid you choose Miami?

I agree
with the second part

Rush is in the city, yes. It's right off one of the major expressways leading into the heart of the city (on the western side), though not quite in the very midst of the city as NW (NW is right on the magnificent mile, no joke). Still more in the heart of the city than UC, though.
Before I got my MCAT score back, I totally was up for all med schools in the city--but don't have the stats to apply to all the NY ones (much less NW, sigh). I definitely want a city feel for med school, if possible, though.
U Florida is also good, but I think it's in-state friendly (though not as bad as FSU)
Dude you're already working
You're evil.

FSU is ridiculous. I wonder what the 1 dude who got accepted there from OOS did to be so special.
I also would prefer a big city type school too. I just hope my MCAT score is up to par. Which reminds me, today is nothing but problems day (when I just do my EK 1001/101 problems). As well as a reminder that PS sucks and should be burned at the stake for its transgressions against potential students
As far as florida schools go, I believe Miami and FIU are the only ones OOS friendly.

But now, I'm exhausted (and suffering from plane-back-itis), so I'm gonna go catch some 😴😴😴s
This morning I came to the acknowledgement of just how terrible it would be if I didn't get accepted this year.
Upping my school list to like 17-20 now.
Great... spam first to get top and THEN use multiquote.![]()

Same here, I'd love to go to a big city for the next 4 years.

Good luck!! PS needs to DIAF for real; I got a 7 the first time and had to work my butt off the second time for a 10, whereas I hardly practiced at all and still managed an 11 and 12 on verbal...
It sucks that most big city schools have a 35 MCAT average; there's no way I would've ever done well enough on PS to get a 35. :[
Secondary essays written for 5 schools. My brain is beginning to collapse

😱
You're so on top of things .............. I'm not starting secondaries until my finals are over.![]()
Stay strong! 🙂
Just some advice, doing lots and lots of problems is the way to go. I'm not much of a problem person and did a lot of content memorization. I got a good score, but I sorta regret not doing more problems.
/EDIT
well ... what do you know. Top again. 😎

Lower than average stats so I'm definitely getting my app out ASAP
👍Smart move. 👍👍👍👍
Why did the weather suddenly get wonderful right when I'm beginning to shut myself off from the world for my MCAT studies?
It's not fair

That awkward feeling when you hate the Heat but your best friend is a Heat fan.

My best friends don't care about sports ... 🙁
I feel like the Spurs have a good chance of winning the title whoever they face though. Well rested and confident.
I second everything in this postJust finished up everything for primary! Ready to submit on the 4th. Is it bad that I am already getting restless for the application cycle to be over 😳😳. This is going to be a LONG year![]()
I definitely pick the Spurs to win the Finals. They're playing amazingly.

Seriously. Ask much as I dislike them, I'd have to admit it.
Also, cannot wait for football season. Now that euro soccer is over and basketball is almost over ... there's the awkward two/three month break til soccer and football start again ... 😡
