👍 Yeah ... there's some school like Standford and such that I have a minimal chance of getting into but are still on my list. :laugh:

Very true! I actually wrote about my desire to get involved in medical research in some of my secondary essays.

I read my PS again today, decided to keep everything as is. No more changes.

I know I need to reread my entire app one more time, but I'm afraid :scared:

I just printed mine, sat on the patio with my dad and went through the entire thing. So glad I did. For my school, there are letters on each course number (so for instance, the first biology class being taught would be listed as BIO 1101A, while the second available time would be BIO 1101B) and I forgot to put them until I just remembered.

That could've helped me app up :scared:. Other than that, just small minute changes for some of the activities.
 
Took about 11 days to individuals the individuals who submitted on the 10th of June last year.

I'm going to go ahead and predict about a 5 day turnaround for those submitting on day 1 tomorrow.

Same here. Dad looked through my coursework and I forgot I had rearranged my classes so the order matched my transcript. Ended up having an A for a grade in one class instead of AB. Lucky dad caught it.

Ha, thank God for dads.

So ready to get tomorrow started! Sucks that I've got to navigate through the submission tomorrow on my phone and in the middle of work, but hey, gotta do what you gotta do.
 
Ok so I received one LOR so far, I tried to send it on Interfolio to AMCAS but it said it cost $6 bucks, I thought you just pay once for it. Any help?

One of my recommenders emailed me today to say she finished writing my letter and she added that "it was a pleasure to write it". *_*

I haven't felt this proud of my work/effort since another recc writer (a favorite professor of mine) said I was one of their favorite students...


Tl;dr: I actually feel like I have a couple glowing letters of recc. =) I know that's what's expected for recc letters, but one always worries a letter won't be praiseworthy enough for the adcoms...

Wrong. I can't watch basketball; it bores me (so does soccer, but for a different reason) and I can't get up the energy to cheer for every point.

And I actually enjoy GOT. The books are especially great (just finished the first), but I'm very visual and love seeing it played out on TV.

Lol I've known that my entire life. In grade school I cared about school "too much," I'm a female and I hate shopping/couldn't care less about fashion and love hockey, I'd rather read a book than do a number of social activities, etc etc.

And I have a lot of strong opinions (altho I usually don't get into arguments I can't win).

I learned Tyrion's advice to use your differentness as armor a long time ago. 😛

It'll probably be best to get all your letters to interfolio so that it can be sent at once in a pack. That way you just pay the $6 once for them to send it to AMCAS instead of $6 each time you get a letter.

I'm still debating on postponing my app an extra day or two for my personal statement (I guess it's all ready, but maybe I'm not?). :scared: I'd like to hear back from this doctor I know.... I've just been waiting. Also, I have to work all day. Would like to review my app at least 5 more times. :laugh: :lame: maybe I'm just making excuses.

Oh~ That sounds pretty interesting. A lot of behavioral tasks then I must believe? One of my friends works in a fear conditioning lab here at my school and it's pretty interesting what they do.

Also, same here. I might hold off a few hours until I get an email response back from someone but AGH .... iono ...

Yes, you're right. I'm pretty stoked about it. It's only supposed to be for the summer, but they may extend it for the full year. :xf: And hopefully you get positive feedback soon! 👍

I think I'm in. My aunt submitted for me. Stupid LORs delayed me by 20 minutes. If you don't need them in, why would they not allow you to submit without going through that section? Stupid system.

How long after you submitted your transcript was it received? (I mean the "Currently marked as received transcripts received on ____" date, not the date when it was actually marked as received). I'm asking because my transcript sent from my school on 5/24 and still has not been marked as received ...
 
Hey guys, quick question... You know how AMCAS suggests that you use a plain text system like Notepad? Well, I kind of forget and did copy some things in from Word. However, if I see absolutely no funny characters or anything in my PDF and plain text versions (from print), that should be fine, right? I don't want them to somehow see crazy characters, lol.
