@No Limits
CONGRATS, YOU SUPERHERO! And now we'll never have to see that fiend of a test again.

God it feels good living the post-MCAT life.

For those of you who are about to take it, I send you my best wishes! (You'll need patience. A lot of it.)

Edit: Just saw your post in the mcat thread... :wow: You are not human. Congrats, I think that's the best score. Nicely done ! :=|:-):

Awh shucks, thank you! 35/3.8+ is nothing to sneeze at... you're pretty much set for great news! I was snooping around your MDapps. Goddamn, that's a rock-solid app.

Seeing as I'm international, a California resident, and go to a non-prestigious state school (really, this is the trifecta for a difficult app cycle) I really need to bring it when it came to the MCAT. It feels good to have actually delivered.

...and now I can actually write that personal statement (eek).

Thanks for the kind words 😳

I know being a Cali resident is tough but with your stats you should be fine. Cali has some great schools. I don't think going to a non- prestigious school is a problem at all though however I'm not so sure about being an international student. Are you applying to only US schools?

As long you have good EC's, volunteering (clinical and non-clinical), some research, and good LOR's. With your numbers I'd say you will be Harvard with @sunflower18, @nOchemallday,@turayza , @moop and @LabratABQ 😉

Just keep the back door open and I'll sneak in +pity+

@Oso and @Agent B don't count. Oso has already been accepted to a sexy school and Agent B will most likely get accepted to a sexy school

Late to the party but great job @No Limits and @hellanutella!! Ain't nothing better out there than the post-MCAT life.

Any plans for tonight? Like, "plans"? 😉 :naughty: :naughty:

Confidence is a must! Sure, you won't have any clear advantage over anyone else given your circumstances, but those grades now pretty much speak for themselves. It's all about the ECs and luck at this point. 👍

Ahahaha, oh yusss. I'm deferring post-MCAT frivolity for the weekend, since I have to give a research presentation (at 8 am... egad) tomorrow.
What did you do to celebrate?

Thank you so much for your kind words; best of luck for your app cycle as well!

I took it over the summer while living in NYC working at the Fed. I was actually going to catch a train to go home for the weekend to relax, but I got two memo assignments the day the scores came out in July so I stayed in my pigeonhole apartment and researched the Greek and Irish bond markets that weekend... No one in New York really cares about a college intern's test scores so I didn't bother bringing it up at all except to the couple of chicks I hung out with.

But I guess I did score some free drinks (iced teas) at the pool hall after kicking some ass!! 😀 Wasn't a bad night out with the ladies 😉

Anyway I'm not applying this cycle yet, so save some of that luck for me next year!

Lol no you wont. I did, I got a 35 (PS/VR/BS) 10-12-13. Considering PS was my worst section I'll take it, I thought I definitely did worst. Soooo thrilled it's over, you and @turayza are next. Have fun😛

Lol. Watch you'll probably get the highest score among us all for saying that.
Secrets? Stick to a schedule, no matter how hard it is sometimes. I'm not like some of these kids who study for a month and get a 40, I really devoted about 5-6hrs a day for 4months. I used TBR and EK primarily. Used TPR towards to the last month, which I do feel like helped despite the luke warm reviews I received about it. Those self assessment things also helped. When I ran out of practice exams from aamc, ek, and tbr I took a couple of those gold standard exams and scored my average on the real thing. Anything specific beyond that just pm me unless it's about PS. Then pm @hellanutella lol

hmmm i doubt it....lol dude I am thinking of buying a farm, raise farm stuff and do farm stuff that farm peeps do...which i clearly dont know what they do.

Congrats @No Limits and @hellanutella ! Awesome scores!

Grazie! 🙂
I decided to bite the bullet and spew out a post in the 30+ thread. I wasn't the most structured/motivated with my MCAT plan, but I really did try to make FL test simulation and personal mental health a priority. It seemed to treat me much better than my post-test feelings suggested.

I'm expecting brilliant things from you March/May/April testers! You're going to beast through this application cycle.

@No Limits : oh god I still am super uncomfortable with PS. I think I really lucked out with the curve in that section. I probably was the only person in my testing center counting on their fingers for calculations.

@moop : I approve of your wallpaper choices.

I managed to "date" her (i.e. a fun date) a while ago. And man is she awesome. 😍

On a totally unrelated note, today while volunteering I met a nurse whose daughter is Richard Sherman's fiance 😱
Fangirled a lot inside. Extra apple juices for all the patients!!

So for you guys taking a gap year, what are you planning to do? As for me, I've been looking for are search position for a while now but still no luck.

I think it really depends on the person. RA and entry-level health care service jobs are the most typical stuff for premeds, but those already with outside interests (either through ECs or non-science majors) may pursue them. Most of the premeds I know personally fall in the latter group.

What have you been applying for?
