I'll preface this with an immediate rebuttal, "Yes, I'm neurotic."
Since us quarter system-ers are applying for spring classes soon (my registration slot is monday), I thought I'd ask you all your opinions on the following:
I have been in classes for 8 terms now (3 terms/yr) with all terms equal to or exceeding 18.5 credits excluding 1 term of 17 credits. However, next term I only plan on taking 14 credits for the pure and simple fact that I don't have to take many more. (14 this upcoming term, 16,16,15 senior year). I brought in a lot of AP credits, but the only pre-reqs this potentially affects is 1 term of english (3 credits). I currently plan on taking psych 101 as part of my 14term quarter, but could easily swap this for english and be in the exact same standing. According to this plan I will graduate with 238.5 credits (159 equivalent semester credits) including 32 honors credits (and no...I refuse to sign up for more useless honors classes). I'm not very concerned about senior year because those classes will be more time consuming and are easy to explain for the obvious "drop" in effort. Rather I'm concerned with the upcoming (14 credit) term.
All of that said:
I imagine 14 credits is gonna look like I'm slacking off a whole bunch; but frankly after this term I think I deserve a little slacking off next term. Since I can't really say "I just felt like slacking off" as a legitimate excuse to taking fewer classes I've considered the following options. (This is where you vote):
1) I just slack off.
2) I take english instead of psych, still have 14 credits, still slack off.
3) I take english on top of psych. 17 credits and a "waste" of psych 101 (I'm not that interested in psych...sorry psych majors
)
4) I take either english or psych (14 credits) and start a part-time job that can transition to full time for the summer. (Not my #1 choice, but I'd like to start breaking down my UG debt as much as I can before med school; realistically part-time still won't do much)
5) other ideas?
