Hey guys!!! Congrats to everyone on their acceptances. Question: when filling out the background check, when they ask for additional addresses, did you include college addresses if you lived in the dorms??
I did and it ended up being one of the verified addresses listed in the copy of the report, so I would recommend it for thoroughness.

So has everyone pretty much decided where they're going to school next year? Minus those on waitlists 😉

Of my 2, I have a definite favorite. However, I'm still waiting on one decision. If it's a rejection, then yes I know where I'm going. If it's a waitlist or acceptance, then I have no idea, it will be a tough decision! :nailbiting:

I didn't, but it was listed on the report anyways. Probably should have put it on there.

Kind of? I'm leaning one way, but still open to two others.

I'm so close to breaking and calling Einstein...it'll be 8 weeks from interview on Friday, but who's counting.

I wish I had any idea even they released stuff.

Soooooo close. Rooting for you! :xf: Let's hope they don't wait for the weekend to release decisions. :yeahright:
OR the Monday afterwards. Still I find some comfort in knowing that there won't be false expectation or weeklong limbo land involved. Many senior peeps on the main Pre-Allo section seemed to be very quick to dismiss the stress involved in waiting for decisions. I think they forgot too quickly, how much a pain it is to wait for life changing event that suppose to take place any minute. When it reaches something like 11 days, it borders on cruelty.

I have a parent with a PhD and they dislike being introduced as "Dr. Nutella" outside of their workplace because people instantly assume that they're a medical doctor. They put it this way: "If you're on a plane and they ask if there is a doctor on board are you going to raise your hand? If so, you're a doctor. If not, don't introduce yourself as one."

However, I'm all for people with anthropology, engineering, English lit, chemistry, theology, underwater basket-weaving, pancake-making, etc. PhDs touting their hard-earned Dr. I don't really care about having a title, though it's kind of nice for us gals to not have to deal with the Miss/Ms/Mrs debacle. Dr. Nutella sounds a lot better than Ms. Nutella.

Nevertheless, a family acquaintance went through this program and insists on being called "Doctor ___." :grumpy: "The DSS Program is a three-year program, with students meeting one weekend a month for nine months each year." Ooooohkay.
Lmaoooo bolded had me rolling. Would be a badass name though.

Well, with the mentioning of the weekend thing, and a similar situation at Penn, I think at this point, it'll be on Monday :-///////////////////////////////

Also, heart went from 0 to 60 earlier because I got pre-II rejection email from another school. That adrenaline rush when your phone vibrates...

WOAH. Huge congrats to everyone who caught the Cornell/Penn action this morning! And belated congrats to all the new prospective Yalies!

I feel like Dr. Nutella would be an awesome villain name.

Slowly but surely achieving world-domination through over-indulgence.

She'd actually make a pretty stunning Bond girl.

Oh hush. You're making me blush now. 😳

I'm currently waiting for internship interviews and grabbing at my phone like a madman whenever it vibrates... I guess I'm going through training for the real thing when I'm applying for med school, haha 😡

Good luck to everyone who's waiting on decisions (that will hopefully come before the weekend)! :luck:

These past few weeks have been a decisions bloodbath for me, but at least it makes my decision a hell of a lot easier ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You can only attend one school, after all. Someone accepted to 20+ schools they felt "meh" about isn't necessarily in a better position than someone who was only accepted to their top choice. 😉 And congrats on that major scholarship, Copernicium! Don't let a WL streak get you down. You're a rock star.

I met a student at a top 10 school who confessed that it was the only school they were accepted to... but they were in the exact same place as dozens of other folks who racked up 10+ acceptances. In the end you're a med student. Nobody will care about your acceptance/WL record.

Sometimes it's better when a decision is made for you.

I purposely performed poorly at the interviews for schools I didn't want to attend anyways and the best at the one I wanted to go to. Nothing like grabbing the bull by the horns and controlling your future amirite?

Edit: In case it wasn't clear. /sarcasm

Lol, for a moment, I thought you were being serious. My sarcasm detector doesn't always function well. 😛

LOL. Oh dear God, someone who can confidently say/do something like that is either: 1)Ballsy (stupidly so) or 2)Has an ego blown out his...yeah... and doesn't belong at any school. Cringeworthy to the max.

@Copernicium:

a) Could you illustrate this with a gif, please? You are a maestro of that art form.
b) It was awesome to see you start the Columbia acceptance train a month or so ago (even though I got waitlisted).
c) I looked at your MDApps, and you got waitlisted by a school in October... and then they offered you a full-tuition scholarship in December?! Did they Duke your file the first time around or something?
