LOL. Oh dear God, someone who can confidently say/do something like that is either: 1)Ballsy (stupidly so) or 2)Has an ego blown out his...yeah... and doesn't belong at any school. Cringeworthy to the max.
And I didn't think you belonged to either category. Obviously, my sarcasm detector needs a serious upgrade-lol.

I've come really close to doing that though. I didn't like a school at all and kind of blew my interview since I didn't care. I didn't have an acceptance at that point so it was pretty stupid, but I would have hated going there.

Then during a really confrontational interview I almost started picking on my interviewer and just got really quite and tuned out the rest of the interview instead.

-_____-, come on RTC you're better than that. At least you weren't counting chickens before they've hatched.

You can only attend one school, after all. Someone accepted to 20+ schools they felt "meh" about isn't necessarily in a better position than someone who was only accepted to their top choice. 😉 And congrats on that major scholarship, Copernicium! Don't let a WL streak get you down. You're a rock star.

I met a student at a top 10 school who confessed that it was the only school they were accepted to... but they were in the exact same place as dozens of other folks who racked up 10+ acceptances. In the end you're a med student. Nobody will care about your acceptance/WL record.

Couldn't be better said.

I'm not though. I figured if the interview was shot already, I might as well make the cost of the flight worth my time.

I think what I did was worse though because I just tuned out. That was an interview skill I wish I had more of going into that interview.

To be honest, I wish I could have kept it together and turned the questions around on my interviewer. I do prefer to go down swinging as a matter of principle.

FOR SPARTTTAAA!!!

I know someone who went to an interview, and on his flight on the way there he found out about getting into his top choice. He proceeded to troll all of his interviewers and fellow students.
Wheeee.

I don't think I would have done that tbh. That's just mean.

In the first school, I probably came off as disinterested. It didn't help that one of my interviewers was talking crap about the clinical sites for the school...

For the other school, the interviewer was just trying to get a rise out of me, so I should have just flipped the script and trolled him instead. I just was caught in the headlights like a deer. I felt stupid for not having fun with that one.

@Copernicium:

a) Could you illustrate this with a gif, please? You are a maestro of that art form.

b) It was awesome to see you start the Columbia acceptance train a month or so ago (even though I got waitlisted).
c) I looked at your MDApps, and you got waitlisted by a school in October... and then they offered you a full-tuition scholarship in December?! Did they Duke your file the first time around or something?

Thanks  Don't know what happened, but I'm definitely not questioning it 😉

Can we please make the 'Duke your file' thing a verbiage?

Please please please?

Cause Miami is totally Duking my file right now. I think they lost it. Have had a final decision status for a month and a half and no one will tell me what it is...

I LOVE FRIENDS!!! "Pivot! Pivot! Pivottttt!!!"

But I couldn't resist adding this too, because last season, Joey Bosa became famous for the "Bosa Shrug" after sacks and the exact emoji shrug depiction you used was all over Twitter!

GO BUCKS! (Can you tell I'm excited to be a Buckeye M1?)

O-H!

HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE HUGE AHHHHHHH SUPER EXCITING CONGRATS to everyone who heard great news today!!!!!! I know that I won't possibly get everyone but I'll tag a few: @researchismymiddlename @No Limits @hellanutella @ProbablyAPenguin (x2 for her!!!!), @FriendlyFH @breakintheroof

CONGRATULATIONS EVERYBODY!!!!!

And to those who didn't get such great news, keep your heads up! Ms. Nutella is, as usual, absolutely spot on. I believe in all of you and at the end of the day, we will all end up physicians! Which is pretty gosh darn exciting, if you ask me 🙂

If there were to be a precise, technical definition of Duking, what Miami is doing would be it.

Duke (transitive verb): To make a decision regarding an applicant, but passive-aggressively refuse to inform them what it is.

I don't think my heart will last long enough till I get my decision from Einstein.

I'm kind of paranoid because there are people from the fall that still haven't heard even though people have been rejected...It's the weirdest kind of limbo.

introduce yourself! are you sliced or diced ??

Sliced 😉

Penn! Wait, your first acceptance came from the very last school to release decisions?

We need an award of some kind for you. That is amazing.

Yes...I had a crazy cycle. Actually all but one interview were at non-rolling ivies...and no, my list wasn't completely top heavy, I promise!

Dat Carolina/Virginia game doe. UNC's plays are making me cringe.
