Hello all,
My prerequisite gpa is kind of low, around a 3.4-3.5. The reason not being that I did poorly in one particular class, but I rather I was an unfocused student and got mostly Bs, B+s. These grades are from several years ago before I would have even considered grad school. Would it be silly to retake classes I got Bs in? Would this show dedication or gpa pandering? If I ace all my B classes my prereq gpa would be in the 3.65-3.8 range depending on if the grade is replaced or averaged.
My cum gpa is also kind of poor at a 3.3 so I would think a higher prereq gpa would be needed to balance it out. I kind of just want to take classes to show that I can be an A student when I have a focused goal. If i don't retake my prereqs, I was thinking about a self styled post-bacc of classes that might be helpful (classes like kinesiology, health psychology, gerontology). Worth it or a waste of time and money?
Other things about my application so far: lots of extracurriculars during undergrad, 50+ observation hours, started part-time work as a CNA on weekends, GRE v 157 q 156 w 4. I feel woefully average.
