I talked to my advisor today and she is a little worried about my decision to take 3 upper division science classes per term this year (Cell Bio, Immunology, and genetics one term and micro bio, virology, and histology the next). My main reasons for doing this is I want to raise my science and BCP and show that I can handle a heavy course load. I will be working part time (15-20hrs/wk) and volunteering at various places ~15 hrs/wk.

Worst case scenario is it turns out to be too much and I lower my science gpas. I really don't want this to happen so any advice or past experiences are welcomed.

I've taken 3-4 science classes at once for a few semesters and it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. However, if you can, try to reduce either your work time or volunteering if it you start to feel overwhelmed. It's also not a bad idea to try to get a bit of studying done during down time where you work, when you're volunteering, or even between classes. From the list of courses you're taking, a lot of the same information will be covered multiple times (at least that was the case from my experience taking some of those courses), so ideally it shouldn't be too stressful. Good luck!

Thank you for the response. That makes me feel a lot better about my decision.. I know it should be doable since I can expect a MUCH harder course load in Dental school. Just didn't want to spread myself too thin while trying to raise my GPA.
