So I’m working registration in the ED and I wanted to know if it’s considered clinical experience or not. I work in triage in the ED with the nurse and patient care technician. I get patients registered, give them armbands, and help them into wheelchairs sometimes. I sometimes go into the patients room to verify information about their insurance or demographic information. I go in the back to ask nurses or doctors if a patient comes to me with a question. I also help the nurses with escorting patients to get triaged if the patient care tech is not available. I have to alert the nurse if a patient comes in with chest pain or shortness of breath. I work in the city so I see a lot of different cases come into the ER and I really love interacting with the nurses, doctors, and patients. I don’t know to me this job is clinical but maybe it’s not. The jobs pays really well so I’m praying it is lol.

I’m sure this could be in some way made out to be clinical work, but my stance is that even if it will get you the hours, I’m not sure this position is one that’s going to give you much to talk about on secondaries and interviews come that time.

You say that until someone walks in without a finger and their friend comes in behind them with the finger in a plastic bag.
