Hi!

I'm currently a junior in college and kind of lost about clinical hours as I've heard a lot of people say a lot. I was wondering if my experience as a dental assistant and pharmacy assistant count as clinical hours? I worked as a dental and pharmacy assistant as a senior in high school. I think around 1000 hours from dental assisting and around 300 as a pharmacy assistant. I understand that it has been around 2 years since high school but I wanted to see if I can count these as my experience? I want to maybe apply to med school next year and I'm planning on taking my MCAT in March or April. If you guys want more information regarding what I did or I'm doing, I can write it out below. Thank you so much!

It's great you have these experience hours in high school, but I would not count them for your medical school application because 1) they're from high school, and 2) they are not relevant to experience in medicine. (For PA applications, they may count for patient care experience.) You can figure out a way to mention these experiences as part of your career exploration in appropriate secondary essays or interview prompts.
