I did a search on this and its been touched on a little, but I'm still confused. In the confirmation statement I sent to Buffalo it read "I understand that the SDM does not anticipate offering a clinical licensing exam in the 2011-12 academic year and beyond." I'm assuming this is also true for Stony Brook since its SUNY, and since you don't need the clinical lic. exam to practice in NY because of the residency.

But what does this mean for me since I plan to return the Rhode Island? Obviosuly I will need this exam, but will this be a big problem? Also, will the SUNY schools be giving the NERB, or is this the same thing? I'm pretty confused with all this licensing garbage.

Maybe I should post this in the 'Dental' forum?

Different states accept different licensure exams, so this is something that you would have to look into.

So far UB is still offering NERB. If by any chance the exam is terminated on 2012, you can still opt to take it at other schools.

Dr. Cinotti at Stony Brook said they weren't thinking about eliminating the NERB in the near future, so I think it's just a Buffalo policy.

Like the other reply said, you would have to take it at another school (Pitt might be the closest perhaps) in order to practice in the NERB states if you decide to go with Buffalo.
