The clinical reserach office of a top gastroenterology group practice associated with Mount Sinai School of Medicine is seeking a full-time clinical research coordinator to assist in multiple projects regarding investigational treatments of IBDinflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease). The position offers a significant role in patient care, assisting the physicians/nurses with vitals, history, phlebotomy, and infusions.
The applicant should have prior experience, including substantial patient contact, good interpersonal skills, sensitivity, professionalism, and some experience with the paperwork involved for submissions to internal review boards. Strong writing skills are a must.
Familiarity with IBD is not necessary, however, applicants are expected to have the general medical knowledge and curiosity to quickly pick-up the specifics of this specialty.
Non-traditional, pre-health students (nursing, medical, etc.) are welcome to apply--this is an excellent opportunity to build one's clinical experience, and several past employees have obtained letters of recommendation to medical school from the physician investigators.
The job is open immediately, but may initially be available as a part-time commitment, with full-time hours by July 1st.
