RESEARCH INTERN POSITION
The Research assistant is an entry level clinical research position for a highly motivated recent or soon to be college graduate/premed student at our two NYC offices in Staten Island and Manhattan. The research assistant will work closely with the Principal Investigator as the mentor. The focus of research at our Institute is neuromodulation therapy for pain management. The Research Assistant will develop skills in planning, implementation, and conducting retrospective and prospective clinical trials as well as managing and analyzing institutional datasets. The Research Assistant will perform a variety of research, database and clerical duties of a routine and technical nature to support clinical trials and assist the investigator to organize, gather and compile clinical research data, and perform and review literature searches. The Research Assistant will primarily be responsible for the collection, aggregation, and analysis of data. The Research Assistant will also perform other duties such as data entry, and administrative duties such as filing, record keeping, photocopying, creating flyers/posters. The Research Assistant will be supervised by the principal investigator and senior research staff member. Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree in related health science field, preferably premed curriculum, or Current college course work in related science fields/premed.
Minimum Work Experience
0-2 years related experience. 1+ year part or full time experience working in a medical or scientific research setting preferred.
Required Skills/Knowledge
Demonstrates adherence with the standards for the responsible conduct of research.
Work requires organizational skills, knowledge of basic mathematical, data collection and analysis, and research principles.
Knowledge of human subjects research and familiarity with medical terminology
Must have excellent attention to detail; verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook); experience with SharePoint is a plus.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofing skills.
