So I started clinicals today for my CNA. First of 10 days. I believe that I can do the job but i have a hard time connecting to my patients so far. I believe that i can excel in all the other details of the job besides this one which i have trouble in. Can someone help give me advice to get over this some how?

Thanks

I had very similar feelings when I started my CNA course. I started to feel a bit more comfortable with the facility and residents after a couple days, and the connection to the residents just came naturally from there. Just focus on being professional and providing the best possible care, and the human connection will sneak right up on you.

And incase you haven't discovered it yet, a great forum for Nurses and CNAs is www.allnurses.com

Good luck!

Thank You for the help, I greatly appreciate it.
