I’m a bears fan. So this game paired with ERAS is just not healthy for me. The anger is building

HOW DID WE LOSE THAT LAST GAME.I'm a Giants fan. I'm already dead inside
Whole-heartedly agree with this solid advice. This is the stuff nightmares are made of . If you are going to update them, say something like " I have updated my contact information and email address.
In all seriousness, people are saying just wait a few weeks because then you get more interviews as what happened last year. The thing with last year is that the MSPEs were sent out after the application went out. This year it all went out at the same time. Everyone I know has at least one invite. That's what I thought but I know multiple IMGs who have gotten more invites that I at primary care programs. I am now wondering if it is LOR thing, etc.
You think these programs have been able to do a thorough review in the 6 days after the cycle opened? The invites sent out by now are the first wave based on regional ties and program specific filters. Give it at least a couple of weeks to gauge for a serious problem. In all seriousness, people are saying just wait a few weeks because then you get more interviews as what happened last year. If it's going to make you feel better send out some LOIs. Don't get your hopes up about it and know it may annoy some PDs at this stage. In all seriousness, people are saying just wait a few weeks because then you get more interviews as what happened last year. It seems like it has been slow in the mornings so far before picking up in the early afternoon. PDs probably getting off rounds and giving the okay for invites lmao.Today feels drier than yesterday. Should have applied to more programs.
But they aren't the ones with regional ties that I am seeing. I guess I can send out a LOI but will wait a few more days. You think these programs have been able to do a thorough review in the 6 days after the cycle opened? I’m re-reading the 2019-2020 panic thread because there isn’t enough panic material here lol. Plus I try to click on the people who were panicking to see how it turned out.
To be quite frank, at this point it’s (probably) mainly board scores besides the regional preference. This depends on how your application stacks up against the rest of the competition. Unless you have really great stats, I wouldn’t freak out yet.But they aren't the ones with regional ties that I am seeing. I guess I can send out a LOI but will wait a few more days.
I frequently panicked for reasons that werent not getting IVs, BUT it worked out lolI’m re-reading the 2019-2020 panic thread because there isn’t enough panic material here lol. Plus I try to click on the people who were panicking to see how it turned out.
I am applying to the least competitive specialty and have included "safety" programs as defined by having had people SOAP last year/I meet the board score criteria. I still think it’s too early for a LOI as well. I will most likely start sending these after a couple of weeks (as long as the program has started sending out invites already).
Depends on how you feel. I would probably try for December so you’d have at least a few under your belt before your most important ones. But if you feel ready in 2-3 weeks, that’s cool tooI applied very broadly and got a few safety interviews coming up, but I potentially have 2 that are going to be top 5(maybe even #1?) for me. Should I schedule these 2-3 weeks from now or ya'll think it's ok to schedule these later in Dec or later to get more zoom interview practice under my belt?
You are giving the worst advice on here, and I can't help but counter it.To be quite frank, at this point it’s (probably) mainly board scores besides the regional preference. So you’re not the first pick of the litter. I guarantee there’s other people in the same boat as you right now. It’s okay to be anxious but I’m trying to give you some logic to help you through it. Good luckI am applying to the least competitive specialty and have included "safety" programs as defined by having had people SOAP last year/I meet the board score criteria. Nothing.
Maybe it’s different for FM but for other specialties, less than 1/2 have started even sending out interviews. Do whatever floats your boatYou are giving the worst advice on here, and I can't help but counter it.
I sent an LOI on DAY NUMBER ONE and got an interview due to it. I also have VERY LOW stats and no regional ties yet have >10 interviews. If there is a program out there that people want, I highly encourage sending an LOI because it may be too late if you wait much longer.

Who did you send the LOI to? PD or PC?You are giving the worst advice on here, and I can't help but counter it.

Last year I sent mine to the PD who then CC’d the PC to arrange an interviewWho did you send the LOI to? PD or PC?

Do you have any friends or family that could watch your dog for a short period?Anybody have any ideas for a quiet places to do an interview? I won't have a secure quiet place until next week.
My apartment has dogs, one of which barks at everything. I tried contacting my school, local libraries, and my apartment complex. My school doesn't look like it will have a room ready by the time I need it and the libraries have all private rooms closed to public. I could just do it at my apartment and hope the dogs aren't intolerably loud but there's no way to ensure that.

Your school library doesn’t have study rooms you can reserve?
Maybe a friend you can either have take the dogs for a walk or over to their house, or a friend whose place you can use?
I hear you. I'm not sure what is going on TBH. What specialty are you applying?I can’t believe I have ZERO invites still. Never thought having gotten this far that I was completely unworthy of actually being a physician.
these are your dogs? You can always try Rover and hire a sitter for the dayAnybody have any ideas for a quiet places to do an interview? I won't have a secure quiet place until next week.

I did not but this was also a more highly sought after program.Did you end up matching at this program?

The libraries have rooms but because of COVID they aren't allowing anybody to use them in my area unfortunately.
I might have to find a place for the dogs, ya. I just wasn't sure if there were other options I hadn't thought of before starting to ask around for someone to watch them for a bit.
IM. Applied to 108 programs. All Florida programs, and then mostly SEC territory (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Carolinas, Tennessee, Arkansas and Missouri), and a couple in Nevada and Arizona.I hear you. I'm not sure what is going on TBH. What specialty are you applying?

DO student. 223 Step 1. I didn’t take Step 2 CK (yet?) and my Level 2 CE score isn’t released for 6-7 days. So possibly that? Even though program websites say you only need them for rank, if everyone else has theirs then I’m less complete than them.
There is an ice cream and coffee place near me that has a business room that anyone can use. It’s in the back and is pretty quiet. Maybe a place around you has something like that.
Because I sent it after I saw the spreadsheet show all the dates being taken, and then got the invite the next morning. One date was available, which I took. How do you know you got the interview because of the LOI

Questionable causation aside, a program sending all their invites within day one of release seems like a red flag tbh lolBecause I sent it after I saw the spreadsheet show all the dates being taken, and then got the invite the next morning. One date was available, which I took.

I somewhat agree. We shall see come March lolQuestionable causation aside, a program sending all their invites within day one of release seems like a red flag tbh lol
I just got my first invite!!! Thank you universe!!! Instate, applied for audition and didn’t get one.
